Tara Apartments

The house is clean and the apartments are spacious and comfortable. Inside there’s everything you might need. And the swimming pool is a big plus especially in summer. Mohammed is a great host. He will go above and beyond to make your stay in Luxor as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Without him, Luxor would have been only a list of temples visits. Thanks to him, I explored the local cuisine, he arranged the cars to go to the Valley of Kings (& co) and to go to Aswan via Edfu and Kom Ombo. All the people he works with are friendly and helpful. In addition to this, staying here and following Mohammed’s recommendations made me: witness an Egyptian wedding, see the sunset on the desert, do an amazing felucca sunset tour. You will miss this place after leaving.

Two words - Trust Muhammed! Had a wonderful four nights staying here this May. You can find other quotes for excursions but the ones we were offered here were well priced and excellent. The hotel is down a side street just yards behind the river with views over the Nile and Luxor from the roof. It was a large, clean room with two separate bedrooms and a living area. Downstairs there’s a swimming pool and a place to eat breakfast. I wouldn’t recommend staying on the east side of the river, the amount of hassle meant it was hard to walk more than a few steps without being accosted, west bank was much quieter. Both Muhammed and Karam went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to help us explore the area, even took us to watch the football on his bike in town! Thank you for a memorable stay in Luxor.

Wifi broke, but Muhammed was quickly on hand to fix it.

There was a misunderstanding over the room location but this was handled extremely well by the manager who moved us to another apartment in Mamma Africa. Breakfasts we're the best we had on Egypt and the staff were fantastic.
