RC AWKWARD

A quirky little spot at the south of the lake, with good eating locations nearby and a 30 minute walk (5 min drive) to the centre of town. The accomodation itself is quite basic, but comfortable and good value with lovely hosts. RC was super helpful and really accommodating in driving us to various locations and helping with train logistics and recommendations for dining. Lovely breakfast, and while we didn’t stay in the timber house, it looks very cool.

The linen was a bit worn out but otherwise ok.

One of the best homestay experiences I’ve ever had. Rajith is an amazing host who truly makes you feel at home once you meet him, very kind, welcoming and happy to help with anything. The place is very comfy and quiet, and I also enjoyed breakfasts prepared by his family. Too bad I only booked a few nights and had to go. Definitely recommend this place and hopefully will return.

I liked it from the start to the end From our first interaction with the owner Rajith to the very end, when he dropped us out He is something special and a type if guy, with whom you could easily get to be friends with. When he picked us up at the railway station near Nuwara Eliya, he immediately started showing us the tea fields along the way and also gave us great fun facts and information I think we “clicked” right away During the stay, we felt at all times very welcome and Rajith made sure of it. I would greatly recommend also, if you need to get to Kandy, because he knows some great spots and can provide you the best option for tea factory visit to your liking. What a great person he is and his family. I can only praise our time here

We had a very pleasant stay at this homestay. Since we were the only guests that day, the host kindly upgraded us to a better room, which made the experience even more comfortable. We especially enjoyed the complimentary tea and snacks—Ceylon tea paired with ginger cookies, which were delicious. As we had to leave very early the next morning, the host thoughtfully prepared a packed breakfast for us. It was very generous and well-prepared, which we truly appreciated.

The only downside was that the prices offered for arranging a private car and tours through the host were slightly on the higher side, so we eventually decided not to book those services.
