Close to windsurfing, motor boating, and more, this smoke-free vacation home brings it all within reach. Jump into your car and make short work of the 9-minute drive to Hotel d'Uzes or the 16-minute drive to Chablis Vititours (and enjoy the property's convenient onsite parking in the meantime).

We had a nice stay at this house and enjoyed a real relaxing holiday. Roffey is a small village surrounded by meadows, great for walks in nature and we saw some wild animals. The downside of this was that you had to use the car to get food, in the end that was fine. The best thing about this house is the swimming pool with sunbeds and lounge sofas, surrounded by walls and therefore completely private. The house itself is old-fashioned but that also fits the atmosphere. If it were up to us, a little more kitchen equipment could have been added and the double beds were a bit small for two people. But overall, this house really had everything you need. The hosts did not speak English like was mentioned in the Ad, but we made it work. At the end of our stay, we had a miscommunication about the cleaning costs. We had chosen to pay them for cleaning. When checking out, we tidied up the house, put the kitchenwear back, removed our garbage, took the covers off the beds and put a cloth over everything. When the landlord came, she was upset, which we didn’t expect. She wanted us to pay double for cleaning cost instead of the normal fee. We thought that was rather exagerated since nothing specific was communicated in advance about cleaning the house. In the end we agreed with her partner that we would pay more, but not double. Specific and clear communication in advance would have prevented this rather unpleasant closing of our stay.

Excellent location and the swimming pool and garden make this property. There are some discrepancies and misleading advertisement photo's of the property. Firstly the picture of the farmhouse gives the impression the rental is for the whole property, the accommodation is situated all on ground floor level, additionally there are cordoned off areas at the property, notably in the courtyard area which is shared with the owner's brother's property, which included a view of his old camouflaged van. The pool area is not in the grounds of the property, access is via two locked doors. Inside the property the beds/mattresses are old and require updating. Communication with Dominique throughout was good, however only in French even though it states that the host can communicate in French and English. We were asked if we had opted for the cleaning charge? We advised Dominique that we were not aware of any charge at our time of booking, we advised that we would leave the property as we found it. We had decided to leave the property a day early, due to the distance we had to travel, out of courtesy we notified Dominique asking where we should leave the property key, we received a rather curt response stating we could not leave until Dominique had inspected the property, Dominque later stated that she normally asks for a Deposit cheque and a cleaning cheque, which she states are both returned once she has inspected the property, again there is no mention of this in the advertisement or when booking. Having rented a number of properties through various sites over many years it is customary for owners to leave information at the property in relation to health and safety, doctors, hospitals etc, in essence a welcome pack or folder, there was no information and we sourced all information ourselves. Additionally there is no mention that there is a main rail line approximately 100 yards from the property which was in regular service both day and night.

Nous y avons passé une excellente semaine de vacances, pour profiter des charmes de la région... Accueillis par des hôtes agréables et disponibles. Maison dans un village isolé, avec piscine et pool house, très agréable. Ancienne ferme reconvertie, chambres de taille moyenne. Cuisine équipée mais il faut porter des torchons.

Nous avons très bien été accueilli par Dominique, gite correspondant à l annonce. Lieu paisible, piscine privative avec transat très agréable pour profiter, sans vis à vis, du calme.

Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et accueillants. La piscine dans le jardin est un plus. Je recommande très vivement. Une machine à laver le linge serait un plus surtout quand on loue pour deux semaines. Merci encore pour votre accueil et votre gentillesse. Nous avons pu nous resssourcer.
