Lovely place - one off issues due to weather and staffing
Room and surroundings are stunning Staff were fabulous
Very unlucky due to some staffing issues i believe. Hall used for dinner was freezing cold - meal was removed from the bill due to this. Snug not open Cleanliness was not up to standard

Terrible customer service
The property and our room was beautiful.
The entire property was freezing cold. Our room had a very small radiator that was clearly inadequate to heat the space, making the stay uncomfortable even before the evacuation occurred. At 2am, we were evacuated due to a gas leak and transferred to a different hotel. While we were understanding and cooperative at the time, recognising that emergencies happen and that this was beyond the hotel’s control, what followed was deeply disappointing. We were informed that there would be no compensation whatsoever for our stay, not even for the breakfast we missed because of their lack of communication, despite having paid over £200 for a single night at a hotel specifically chosen for its pool and spa facilities, facilities we never had the opportunity to see or enjoy. Being told that the disruption was “minimal”, that we should be grateful for a “free ride” to a Holiday Inn at 2am, and that the matter was closed because the hotel had “done everything by the book” demonstrates a complete lack of empathy. While a Holiday Inn may be classified as a four-star hotel, it is not equivalent to your property, nor to the room and facilities we paid for. Being evacuated in the middle of the night, relocated, and losing access to the hotel experience we had booked is not a "minimal inconvenience" by any reasonable standard. We fully accept that gas leaks and evacuations are unavoidable. What was within the staff's control was the response: acknowledging the disruption, recognising the loss of value, and treating guests with basic understanding. Instead, the response amounted to little more than “at least you’re alive”. To add further insult, we were offered a discount on a future stay... a week later. While again being reminded that the disruption was minimal.

Nice and traditional place with pool, jacuzzi and sauna
The lobby and the building is very nice and traditional. We were in low season so only we were using the jacuzzi and sauna. The breakfast was very nice and tasty.
The restaurant would have been so nice, but at the dinner the lights were extreme bright. The food was average, we felt it a bit overpriced.

Poor stay and much better alternatives in the area. Country hotel run like a Holiday Inn
Young staff friendly, but lacking any guidance from any management. Very unorganized and not very accommodating.

Comfortable stay but hotel needs a revamp !
Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy. Outside hot tub and sauna was a big bonus.
It’s tired & needs a refurb. The room was clean but the bathroom looked pretty run down. The lights were awful, one didnt work so trying to put make up on was a challenge. The leisure centre lockers are literally falling apart, doors hanging off.

It was a special experience, we would stay again but just not beside the function hall.
Breakfast was good, lots of choice.
Staff were moving tables and chairs till 3 am in the morning in the function hall. this kept us awake till 3 am.

Extremely well looked after house. A lot of effort to make sure the guests are looked after..
There wasn't a kettle in the room. And the bath tub didn't have water.
