Thainstone House

Beautiful property in woodland setting. I had a small double which was very comfortable. Nice bathroom and very clean.

The only downside was breakfast which was buffet style and as usual in most hotels was only average. Overcooked baked beans, potato scones were rock hard, no sausages or bacon when I went up to the buffet, both were empty. Eggs were ok, mushrooms weren’t that nice, tomatoes were ok. It was a bit understaffed with just one guy looking after a lot of guests. I saw a couple wait for at least 5 minutes to be attended to because the waiter on duty was busy. I’ve always wondered why hotels in this country don’t do what hotels abroad do and cook fresh in front of the guests! Guaranteed to be hot and as you like it! I didn’t see a selection of fruit juices, coffee and tea were made fresh and brought to my table and was ok. A continental style breakfast was also available which I had. (Cornflakes) Toaster was quick and bread fresh. Not a bad breakfast, but would have been better if everything was available and not left to stew on the hot plate.

Faded grandeur.

The hotel is beautiful and the food was amazing

Nothing

Nice setting…

Sadly , lack of staff on a saturdays evening. Appreciate a wedding on but there was a number of customers like ourselves waiting around. Elec chargers broken even tho we asked day before and was told it was working fine.
