Host & Stay - Shipwrights

Property was perfect size for our family. Location was ideal to walk into the town.

When we arrived the toilet seat was broken and the seat was wonky. The bathroom door handle was loose. The fire alarm, after one day, in the small bedroom battery ran out and it beeped every 1min. I called the hosts to fix it, they said they'd come out to fix it, they didn't. So we had to stay there the entire time with these issues. Our son barely slept because of it.

All the facilities were good as expected as the flat is relatively modern and new. The property had little in the way of storage for clothes ,but this was a minor problem for such a short stay of 5 days. The property is well sited for the city centre being only a few 100 yards away.

Had great difficulty with opening the key box. It took half dozen attempts on arrival as well leaving. Did report it to host. Parking was also a problem being very tight. It was not helped that the property opposites being renovated with builders vans blocking the crescent. Also the Electricity Board had dug a large open hole to lay a cable which remained unfilled during our stay making it extra awkward getting out. Did also report this to host. A minor problem was there was only one toilet roll in the property with our having to buy extra as there were 3 of us staying.

Bathroom woodwork needs a touch up, but minor point

Location was excellent, and an easy walk into the town. A local restaurant 2 mins away where we had a lovely meal one evening. Decor design in the apartment was lovely. Bed was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was modern with all the useful white goods - dishwasher / big fridge freezer / washing machine.

The bathroom wasnt clean at all, mould on the tiles, the shower screen leaked onto the floor, and had made the floor covering wrinkle. The toilet seat was not fixed properly and loose. There wasn't really enough storage, though just about adequate for 2 people, if you were 4 in there there was little cupboard/ hanging spaces for clothes (there was only 6 clothes hangers) The pans in the kitchen were of poor quality and were going rusty so had to scrub them before using. The ovenglove was dirty from previous use (we did not use) And a few little touches would have been nice - like soap in the bathroom and more than 1 loo role to be provided, considering how much we paid for the weekend.
