Great host, beautiful space, and a picturesque location at the right price. What more could you ask?

The host was amazing. She was very accommodating, friendly, and flexible. Additionally, the location and apartment itself were simply amazing. It was also easy for us to have privacy even while traveling with children since the rooms are separated by a hallway, and the extra half bath made a huge difference. While the full-service kitchen was moderate in size, it was modern and well-kept. Some additional pleasant surprises: Fresh eggs from the chickens in the atrium, the heated floors, and the chest of games we could play as a group. We loved our stay!

Since there was a washing machine, it would've been nice to have a dryer in the unit as well. However, there were ample drying racks we could use in its absence.

The property was exceptional! Host greeted us on arrival, explained everything & gave us a list of local recommendations. It was approx 20 min walk from train station, with lots of bars & restaurants nearby. Apartment had excellent facilities & was comfortable & quiet. We have no hesitation in recommending this property. We hope to visit again.

Our favourite self-catering apartment yet!!

This apartment is an absolute gem in the heart of historic Schiedam—a fantastic location surrounded by charm and character. The space itself is spacious, beautifully appointed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. Plus, the excellent transport links made exploring the area a breeze. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and local charm.

Lovely, comfortable and spacious stay in a beautiful area!

Hosts were lovely and so welcoming - they were quick to respond to any messages and provided us with information on the area. Accommodation was in a beautiful area with cute little restaurants and windmills nearby. The accommodation itself was clean, spacious and modern combined with a gorgeous cobbled exterior. The chickens were adorable little neighbours that provided us with some fresh eggs in the morning (unfortunately we were always in a rush in the morning so didn't get to enjoy). Would love to stay here again with more time so we could truly enjoy the area more!

A relaxing space to slow down and enjoy the 750 year history of Schiedam.

Location, adjacent to interesting town scape and canal with lots of lovely plants was what caught our eye. The chicken friends were an added bonus. Being able to use the outside seat and was the day, foot traffic and watercraft go by. Thoughtful hosts with suggestions about local sights to visit, eating options to explore while also encouraging us to take time out and make use of the outside seat. Kitchen well appointed, easy to use washing machine and dish washer so the travel laundry was under control, while eating in was just as pleasant and discovering local haunts.

That we should have booked a longer stay, as far as location and facilities all were above expectation.

Super. Comfortable Apartment

Located in a lovely town with canals and windmill. Spacious, brightly lit and well equipped kitchen stuffed with condiments. Ilse was very gracious to pick us up at the Troelstralaan metrostation in the rain. Even adjusted the floor heaters in the apartment to suit our choice.

Exceptional home away from home

This is a truly special apartment. Our host met us for check in and gave us the tour, and we were greeted by their dogs and chickens! The apartment was spotless, airy, quiet, and calm. The historic part of Schiedam is very idyllic and we were situated on the canal and near the main museums and bars. Everything we needed was provided in the stocked kitchen, and the bathroom was very grand with a powerful shower. I'd also recommend this for family stays as there are 2 toilets and a dining area.

Lovely property in a great location

Location is wonderful, picture postcard canal-side. Easy access to Scheidam central station and water taxi. Plus restaurants, cafes, bars and shops all within very short walk. Stylishly furnished interior, fully equipped.

Nothing bad to say, we loved our 4 days there, but perhaps a bit more storage in the bedrooms so we could hang up/ unpack some clothes would have been helpful.

The owners Ilse and Cor did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable

The property situated on the bank of the main canal in Schiedam was a perfect location with outstanding views. The house had great character and was equipped with every required kitchen utensil. The apartment was situated on the ground floor and the owners Ilse and Cor lived on the floor above. They were easily contactable whenever required. The artisan bread shop just round the corner was very useful. Highly recommended and we would choose to stay there again if we revisit Schiedam. Thank you Ilse and Cor.

Great location, gorgeous town, beautiful apartment - would definitely stay again!

The location of this apartment couldn't be better - Schiedam is a lovely, quiet, picturesque town that is every travellers dream. Our host Ilse was exceptionally friendly and helpful, taking a few moments upon arrival to answer our questions about the town and it's facilities. The apartment was bright and airy but still warm and inviting, we were very comfortable as a group of 4 (2 couples). Highly recommend!

This is an fantastic apartment newly renovated in an charming old traditional Dutch house. We were staying with our two adult daughters and the apartment exceeded expectations, Near to grocery stores and a number of good restaurants in walking distance. There is both a tram and trains going into the Rotterdam city. We were welcomed directly by the owners, who are living in the same building. The location is great for central Schiedam. We were welcomed and shown around by the host and they were great throughout the weekend. We will use the same apartment next time we visit.

Perfect stay and happy to go back

the position of the property was perfect in the historic part of the town with nearby restaurants and shops. The hosts, Ilse and Cor were super friendly and helpful. The apartment itself was beautifully done up with all amenities and very comfortable and clean. I will miss my morning coffee in the yard while having conversations with the chickens !!

- the apartment is brand new. Newly renovated. - there are many things iron, washing machine, toaster, kettle, oven, full kitchen equipments - many items didnt use yet. - there are two bedroom, large living room, one bathroom with shower + bathtub + toulet - host is quite generous because coffee, tea, sugar, salt, even olive oil available:)

-first the apartment is very cold because host turned the heat when we enter and it was 17 degrees and outside 4/5 degrees. - It took 1 day to reach 18 degrees, because there are heating system by floor. Next day hardly we reached 23 degrees but it wasnt enough, because apartment has high ceiling, huge windows, ground floor and the walls was cold due to noN used heater. It ll be suitable mostly summer time stay or owner should keep open heater during winter time and make sure temp firm and even. - the apartment is not soundproof, you can hear upper floor talks, music, walks. Overall our stay is ok, host is very friendly and polite…but if you have small kids, you should re consider for winter time because there are really cold , me and my father used two blanked and wore our hat during sleep :)

Værterne og deres søde hunde, meget venlig sindet værtspar. Lejligheden var meget fin og der var rent alle steder, lejligheden var rummelig til 2 par, fine soveværelser, stort flot badeværelse, dejligt køkken med alt hvad vi skulle bruge, meget hyggelig stue, det var et meget behageligt 3 dages ophold. hyggelig gårdhave og meget centralt beliggenhed. Alles war TOP! Eigentlich dürften wir dieses Bijoux von Wohnung im Herzen von Schiedam gar nicht gross promoten, damit es ein Hideaway bleibt. Cor + Ilse als herzliche Gastgeber haben die Wohnung so eingerichtet, wie sie selber gerne darin wohnen würden. Es fehlt an nichts - TOP ausgestattete Küche, traumhaftes Bad, sehr geschmacksvolle Einrichtung, traumhafte Matratzen, viel Ambiente auch dank der hohen Decke, mit viel Raum fürs Auge und fürs Herz! Es war einer der besten Ferienwohnungen, die wir auf allen unseren Reisen je hatten! Wir gingen nur schweren Herzens wieder fort. Hinzu kommt die unglaubliche Ruhe im Zentrum von Schiedam - kein Verkehr, keine Hektik - maximale Entschleunigung! Die Grachten und die Ruhe des Wassers tragen das ihrige dazu bei! Der Bäcker gleich um die Ecke hat traumhafte Croissants und Brioche! Nebst dem touristischen Rotterdam ist Schiedam eine Wohltat, mit viel einheimischem Groove. Die Ferienwohnung ist dabei eigentlich das Sahnehäubchen inmitten dieser Oase! DANKE, dass wir da sein durften! Die Hunde und die Hühner (mit eigenem Warnschild an der Zufahrtsstrasse am Kanal) kommen als so schöne Abwechslung noch dazu! Zudem konnten wir für rund € 12 pro Tag direkt am Kanal parken (am Sonntag sogar gratis).

Absolut NICHTS! Ein Traum!
