About this house rental
Located in Vilassar de Dalt, a charming village in the Maresme just 20 km from Barcelona, this beautifully restored 19th-century house offers a unique blend of history, local life, and Mediterranean charm. Fully renovated, it combines traditional character with modern comforts, including a private swimming pool 🏊♂️. The house sits on the village’s main square but remains peaceful and private, allowing you to experience authentic Catalan life.
Parts of the house date back to the 17th century. Inside, you’ll hear mainly birds singing and occasionally the toll of the 16th-century church bell. The upstairs bedroom has been preserved in its original state, keeping its historic character.
Layout & Sleeping Arrangements
Ground Floor: Large bedroom with two double beds (180x200 cm and 160x200 cm) and a sofa bed (160x200 cm). Two ceiling fans are available.
First Floor: Open-plan living area and kitchen overlooking the pool 🏊♂️. Air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The second bedroom is accessed via a short outside passage and also has a ceiling fan.
Laundry & Bathroom: Located between the ground and first floor, with pool access.
Outdoor Space
The private pool area 🏊♂️ is spacious and peaceful, with a table, chairs, and BBQ—perfect for relaxing or dining outdoors.

Double-glazed windows, central heating, and air conditioning in the living/kitchen area.
Important Notes
Stairs ⚠️: Multiple levels may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Children ⚠️: No safety railings outside, so supervision is required.
🌿 Nature
During summer, insects such as ants 🐜, mosquitoes 🦟, or bees 🐝 may appear. No harsh chemicals are used, but insect spray is provided. The pool may occasionally contain leaves despite regular cleaning.

This home has a rich history. The upstairs bedroom remains in its original state, with old beams and uneven walls. Some dust may be present, which could affect allergy sufferers.
Other Information
The property has an alarm 🔒 for security only (no guest monitoring). A café/tapas bar is just outside—great for drinks and mingling with locals.
🚫 No Pets Allowed: Pets are not permitted on the property.
🚭 No Smoking or Vaping: Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the house.
🚫 Zero Tolerance Policy: No illegal drugs are allowed anywhere on the premises.

Dropping off luggage: You can stop in the Village Square to unload your bags. You may find an available space here, but please be aware that spaces are limited and it is a paid zone during the day.
Free Parking: There is a free parking area (Can Bus) a 6-minute walk away; please refer to the map in the photos section.
Note: If you cannot find a spot in the free area, you can look for street parking nearby. As this is an old village with narrow streets, finding a space can vary depending on the time or day.
Excellent transport links: There is a direct bus into Barcelona city centre (Moventis 805) just a 5-minute walk away (30–40 min journey). You can also take a short trip to the Vilassar de Mar coast and train station (take the Moventis 803 bus to reach the station).

We spent six nights at Valentino's house and it was great. The livingroom, kitchen and main bedroom are very spacious with a very high ceiling, giving it a very free and open feel. The outdoor area is also spacious, especially given the house is right outside of the town's main square.
The house is well insulated because once in the house the sounds from the square are very distant.
The swinning pool is not massive but in accordance with the website photos and very refreshing on hot days.
Kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom has all we needed as well.
On one of the previous reviews there was a complaint about the distance of second bedroom. This was no issue for us as we used the main one for the four of us but one should not expect it to be used for small kids only.
The distance from the town to Barcelona was absolutely fine. We really enjoyed the combination of the more personal town vibe with the day trips to city madness.

This lovingly restored villa is a wonderful mix of the old and the new. The bathroom and kitchen are stylishly designed, boasting great appliances and the pool is clean and was lovely and warm throughout our stay. The top bedroom
Is very cosy and quiet, while the bottom room is spacious and airy. It’s very clean and has been carefully and thoughtfully maintained. Best of all, it’s situated in a really friendly town square, yet because of the thick, old high walls, it feels quiet and secluded when you’re in the house and outside by the pool. We loved the local area and the community. There’s everything you need within walking distance and everyone is very helpful. Any little issues with the villa were dealt with promptly by our approachable hosts and we had a relaxing, comfortable holiday!

We have enjoyed our stay in this nice region. The house is located at a nice church square. Check in process and overall communication with owners was excellent.
However, we were confronted with some surprises:
-the add mentions airco in the house, but this is only available in the living room (Rooms have a fan).
-The (non-renovated) children’s room is located at a separate part of the house, required to pass by a balcony (long distance from parents room), with a balcony of a separate house just below.
-WiFi is inexistent.
Preferably, the add should be amended to better reflect this reality (especially for parents with young children)
Overall cleanliness leaves to be desired.
Great restaurants in the immediate area + plenty of commerce stores for provisions
