Hotel Romulus

The hotel is good value for money if you need a cheap room. The staff and cleaners were friendly.

Getting to and from the hotel is frustrating, as it's on a big road with no walking path, so you have to make sure to get off at the right stop. Google maps suggested I get the bus 235, but that drops you off at the other side of big roads that you cannot cross, so I had to head back the way I came to get on the 135 bus that actually takes you to the hotel. I had issues with the wifi. The room looks like the photos, but the furniture is a bit worn and could do with replacing.

Free parking and free breakfast - not extensive choice, but OK. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced (for Rome).

Location was outside of the city boundary, so it was rather difficult to get a taxi from downtown Rome - and the cost was about 30E each way. There was a bus/metro that you could use, but it took about 45-60mins to get to the city center. The hotel was fairly shabby looking, in fact we thought it was a derelict building (as did a couple of taxi drivers who dropped us off) - really it was the reflective film on the windows that had cracked. The hotel was OK, and certainly quieter than a number of places downtown that can be super noisy. The bathrooms were rather tight for space, in that the door hits the front of the toilet when opened. Walls are rather thin, so if you have a noisy neighbour, you might not be getting much sleep.

Location - connection with city center was great, no 135 take you to tiburtina in 15-20min AC makes room warm very quick

very simple room, mouldy places in shower, bad smell breakfast awful - artificial croisants and cakes, no other paistries than this and crackers offered with jam and butter, last day there was no butter at all, we bought our staff to eat for breakfast.
