About this house rental
Located in a quiet village near the busy town of Prades with its bustling weekly street markets, several supermarkets together with cafes, restaurants and other shops,
Maison Anis is a comfortable renovated typically Catalan village house which offers a wonderful view of Mount Canigou from the private roof terrace.
Free Wifi.
Within walking distance from the house, down by the river you can find an outdoor activity area for all ages.
Sleeping up to 6 people (plus baby), it is fully heated and therefore suitable for winter and summer holidays.
Also within walking distance are a cafe/bistro, local grocery stores, winery, greengrocer and tabac.
Parking is available on the church square adjacent to the house, further parking is available around the village. All parking is free.
The property is spread over 3 floors. The top floor is the living room with open plan kitchen, dining and living area and outside terrace with a dining table for 6 people, a barbeque and 2 sunloungers.
The kitchen is very well equipped and the living area has a smart TV with French television and DVD player. Just off the kitchen is a utility room with microwave, toaster, washing machine and dishwasher.
You can step out of the living room on the terrace where there is an amazing view over the terracotta rooftops of Marquixanes to Mount Canigou.
The terrace has a table and chairs so that all meals can be taken outdoors on the terrace. We also provided two reclining chairs for those wishing to spend the day in the sun or just relaxing with a good book. There is an electric outdoor grill and for winter a raclette.
The middle floor consists of two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. These two bedrooms share a bathroom (shower) and toilet.
On the ground floor you will find a large master bedroom (located on the ground floor because it is cooler in summer). The master bedroom has a king-size bed, en suite shower room with basin and separate toilet.
All rooms have ample storage space and comfortable beds.
NB the stairs in this property may not suit anyone with mobility problems.

A notre arrivée nous avons été étonnés de découvrir le grand escalier très pentu qui dessert les différents niveaux de la maison. Dans la description nous savions qu’il existait au moins deux niveaux mais le troisième était une surprise. Nous étions 3 couples de 64 à plus de 70 ans mais fort heureusement nous nous sommes habitués au dénivelé ; peut être une précision sur l’architecture serait la bienvenue pour locataires à mobilité réduite ou avec des jeunes enfants.
Nous avions alerté la concierge sur le manque de pied du grand parasol bleu, détail fâcheux vu les conditions climatiques de la quinzaine pendant laquelle nous étions à Marquixanes.
Pour être plus exhaustif sur la liste des équipements de la maison il faudrait rajouter un mixeur, un plat à gâteaux et préciser plancha électrique.
Une petite remarque sur l’annotation « parking sur place… », en fait le parking où nous avons garé les véhicules, se situe près de la mairie à 300m.
Les chambres et salles de bain étaient agréables, seul bémol concernant la chambre du bas qui est très sonore lorsque l’on marche dans les chambres du niveau supérieur.
A part ces derniers détails qui pourront améliorer la description, nous avons largement profité de la terrasse à l’étage. Cette maison s’intègre dans un petit village de charme, bien située pour rayonner dans le pays Catalan dont les habitants sont très sympathiques.
