The great location made up for the coldness of the property.

Adequate but draughty!

Appreciate it was the winter but the house was very draughty and it was a struggle to heat despite the pre-warning and use of the plug-in heaters This coupled with showers with very little pressure meant it only an adequate stay but could have been better with these improvements - appreciate less of a concern in peak season

Very enjoyable!

Black out shades on bedroom windows. When it gets light at 4:00 am it’s harder to sleep in a bright room. Shower water didn’t get as hot as we would have liked. But other than that all great!

The accommodation was lovely, plenty of room. The location couldn't have been better.

The location is perfect. The house was clean and well equipped.

A little tlc needed in some areas. Having to take the rubbish home isn't ideal.

Big old house in a great location in a lovely wee town.

Overall we had a good experience. The house was in a great location right next to the beach and easy walking to cafe’s and restaurants. The house felt a little old and tired but the open plan living /dining/ kitchen was a wonderful space. We were a party of 10 but unfortunately could not all sit round the table because it was fixed to the floor. The upstairs shower had no hot water so we were unable to use it. There was plenty of space though over 3 floors.

Rambling house

The large rambling house is in a great location across the road from the beach. The kitchen is lovely. 2 of the 3 bathrooms have hot water. The bedrooms are good.

Good

The location was just amazing, helped by the good weather. Large rooms, good kitchen, mainly comfortable beds. Spacious, lots of room for 10 adults and a tot. Views from sitting room and kitchen to the Bass Rock and beach/coastline brilliant. Nice touch to have outdoor beach chairs and toys etc

It needs a lot of repairs by the owners . Middle shower was not working, which we were compensated for. The central heating wasn’t working apart from the middle bathroom. Cracked sinks, rusty bottom shelf in fridge, top bedroom blind had fallen down, which was mended but then kept falling down. Bottom floor bedroom windows did not open and smelled musty (damp ingress). Outside down pipe blocked and overflowing on side path. We were taken aback to be left with only 1 dishwasher tablet for 10 adults for 3 days, and 1 tea towel. We had to buy more of both. Would have been a beautiful property if it had been looked after properly.

Location

It's about respect for people paying good money for something the owner obviously doesn't really care about. Blinds that fall off in the middle of the night and you can't get them up again so you waken at dawn, gutters that need fixed as the noise of the rainwater bouncing off the window sills is deafening and you can't sleep. Showers that are rubbish.

Excellent location, house needs some love to be worth the money.

The location is brilliant, straight over the road and on to the beach, and just round the corner from the shops. Kitchen/living area is also very nice.

The property has definitely seen better times and needs some investment to bring it up to a better standard for a £600 a night holiday home. Little pride taken in the property - windows had not been cleaned in a long time which really takes the shine off the incredible views. The lawns needed cut, there was an old bath dumped in the back garden and the outdoor furniture is ready for the bin. A blind also fell down in one of the bedrooms, which are all a bit dated and tired looking, and not in an intentional 'original features' kind of way. Just feels like the owner or management company are going through the motions, no nice touches to make this house stand out.

We all enjoyed our relaxed & relaxing stay because problems were not insurmountable though should have been attended

Location is perfect with beautiful views. Character of Victorian house. Lots of space. Comfortable seating area & beds. Modern kitchen. Big table for family meals. Parking was good because of time of year.

Green mould on inside window sill in lower bedroom. Broken blind cord & torn curtains. Old fashioned loos which are of character but could be easier to use. Torn shower curtain. Looks as if same cloth was used to clean all surfaces in kitchen & lounge so smeary TV, cooker top, which did not work, & microwave and oven doors. No surface cleaner or cloth available. First impression is clean but not to expected depth.

Generally enjoyed stay but could do with a spot of upgrading and fixing.

Cleaning not complete until 1 1/2 hours after planned arrival time. Ground floor sandy. Not enough suitable stemware. No PAT testing on electrical appliances. Upstairs shower didn't drain well meaning it was unpleasant for next person using shower.
