Isambane Camp

Great staff and awesome location. Very helpful and friendly. Great food

The cabin was a bit small for 2 plus all our photo gear but managed to upgrade to a tent Plug point could be at the front of the bed for easy access.

The pool and vicinity to the elephants was incredible. The food was the best in South Africa and a real special touch having the chef come to your table at each meal to explain what you’re eating. The tents had a lovely shower and bath. The boma was icing on the cake. The game drives with the blankets and water bottles as well as great selection of drinks and nibbles was greatly appreciated.

The bumpy Ferrari safari was a little uncomfortable on my back. The game driver wasn’t as engaging as other drivers we’d had. He seemed less comfortable with guests. Upon departure our game driver was adamant he check our room prior to giving us our vehicle keys this made us feel as though it was assumed we had broken or stolen something. This left a bad taste. This was disgusted with the comment “let me just check your room before you leave to make sure you hav everything”

We enjoyed every minute that we've spend at Isambane. The staff is so helpful and friendly and the location is amazing. We saw loads of elephants at the pool (14 on a single evening). Also the morning+evening safaris we went on exceeded all our expectations. The guide tells you a lot of useful information and shows you the best spots. And on return, the whole team is waiting to welcome you back. Just wow.

We had such a wonderful stay at this lodge in the Balule Private Game Reserve. The service and hospitality were truly outstanding – everyone was so warm, attentive, and made us feel at home right away. The lodge itself is small, which creates a very intimate and peaceful atmosphere. We loved spending time on the terrace overlooking the waterhole. The game drives were incredible and we were lucky enough to see the Big Five. One of the most special moments was watching elephants come to the waterhole during dinner – and even drink from the pool. Overall, a very memorable and relaxing stay. We would absolutely come back.
