Breakfast and dinner were delicious and the French themed menu was a lovely alternative to traditional Bavarian cuisine. The rooms are quirky, charming and very well presented.
Access by car to drop off luggage is difficult due to the hotel being located in a pedestrian zone and GPS directions being erratic or even incompatible with a one way system. However, the hotel receptionist was excellent with directions and annotated maps to and from the hotel and local parking. Be patient and you will get there.

Hotel Orphée has stunning rooms - We were awed by the massive and beautiful accommodations. The bathroom was the nicest bathroom/shower we had in our roadtrip around Bavaria and Franconia. I could not believe we had a tub! Let alone space to turn around. The location was very central and easy to get to. The restaurant attached is French and the breakfast in the morning, which was part of our stay, was very good.
As with many hotels and places where we have stayed in Germany, there is no air conditioning, and the only issue is having had a hot streak this week (95+ degree days). We slept with the window open with the fan in the window, and this worked very well, especially since we were above the restaurant which closed around 11pm. The courtyard is very quiet once the restaurant is closed.

I liked the room, it was a good size. Old fashioned but quirky. Good towels, comfortable bed, English speaking tv programmes, tea making facilities, strong water flow in the shower. Reception staff helpful. New towels ever day. Location very good
The breakfast choice is really poor. The worst I’ve had in a German hotel. The quality of the food was very good - no fresh fruit, no cereal, I had a scrambled egg and bread and jam. I would not recommend this hotel on this basis.
I did not like the prominent picture of Trump in the lift - surely the hotel should be A Political to its guests - I would have said the same had the picture been Starmer or Macron or any other sitting leader
