I don’t know how you can put this right, but the walk to the hotel from the station is not a nice experience. The homeless people use part of the area as a toilet, the smell of urine and I’m sorry to say excrement is awful.

The location was perfect, because the hotel is very central and located just a few minutes walk from the Düsseldorf main train station. The bed was also comfortable.

I actually had to request to move to another room because the bathroom sink drainage pipe was leaking. I appreciate that the nice receptionist came to my room promptly and he tried to fix it himself, but unfortunately it was still leaking after a few attempts. My new room had no problems with the sink, although I did find a few bogies smeared onto the wall on the right side of the bed and a couple of small blood stains on the bed sheets (appearing orange in colour after being washed a number of times, I imagine). There were also residue stains inside the trouser press from where previous guests have used it. These things are not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Apart from that, the standard of cleanliness was satisfactory.
