About this apartment rental

OK, we’ve all been there. You find yourself in charge of coordinating a trip to the beach for an extended family. Two bedrooms are not enough, 4 bedrooms may be too many, and depending on who can actually get off work and show up months from the time you have to make the reservation, 3 bedrooms may be too little or too much. What do you do?

Well, one answer is 2 living spaces in 1.

So, what does 2 living spaces in 1 mean? It's the answer to getting the whole family together at the beach and still having some private space. This is actually 2 units (1602 and 1603), which are two separate living spaces that share an entry foyer and laundry area. Once you enter from the interior common hallway into the foyer, you can enter one side that has a master bedroom, full bath, kitchenette and living room with a Murphy bed (true queen size mattress). This is Unit 1602. When you return to the foyer the other entry has 2 large bedrooms - each with a King Size Bed, 2 full baths, a full kitchen, balcony overlooking the beach, and a huge living/dining area. This is Unit 1603. This set up is perfect for In-laws, Snowbirds, another family, grown children or whoever else you want to bring along. Unit 1602 can be locked off if it is not needed.

Once everyone settles into their own space, you may want to meander on down to the beach with your beach towels provided from the condo. Plan on soaking in the wonderful luxury of Escapes! to the Shores. On your way to the beach you will see the three pools, hot tub, sauna, steam room, workout room, outdoor fireplace, grills, and much, much more. By the time your toes touch the sand you realize this place has it all.

Here's what I offer that no one else does:

* A 100% refund, for any reason or for no reason, up to the day of arrival. No questions asked. Life happens, so I understand that circumstances change over time and you should not be held hostage over it. Therefore, vacation insurance is not needed so you can save that money and go out for a great seafood dinner.

* Included in the rental is a complimentary (free) beach lounger (2 chairs and 1 umbrella) that is set-aside for guests of unit 1603!! You must ask the attendant and tell them you are in Unit 1603, and they will then designate one for your use at no cost. This service will be available for your free use from Mid-March to Mid-October. No other condo, anywhere, offers this amenity other than Unit 904 at the Escapes! that I also own. So, take the $35 per day you will save and go shopping at Tanger Outlets in Foley!

* Inside the unit is a STOCKED Keurig with upwards of ten different flavors of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available for you pleasure. We are not talking the Wal Mart "Great Value" flavors, either. Starbucks, Paul Newman's, Dunkin Donuts, Green Mountain, etc. awaits you. No need to bring your own so take that money and go deep sea fishing one day.

* Whoa!! For those rainy days and gamer kids, you get access to a Sony Playstation 5 with a modest selection of PS5 games. It's hard to even find one of these, much less find one in a beach rental!

* At the beginning of each season,. I scour VRBO and see what the rates are at the other units in my building. Then I set mine lower.

* What's better than a Stressless leather recliner?? Not one, but two full leather recliners from Stressless! Never sat in a Stressless recliner? Well, prepare yourselves for a treat!

NOTE TO SNOWBIRDS:

Perfect for 2 couples or company coming to visit, each having their own private space (in-law suite has fully stocked kitchenette).

This condo is a perfect set up for snowbirds! Just picture it...you're on the beach for the winter and when family comes down to visit they have their own suite to stay in, separate, but together. There is covered parking, interior hallways (temperature controlled) to room, excellent security, on-site management and too many amenities to list. Give me a call and I will fix you up with a Snowbird Nest you will want to return to year after year!

This complex offers many amenities such as a large gulf facing workout facility, steam room, sauna, hot tub, large heated indoor pool, Infinity edge outdoor pool overlooking ocean, outdoor fireplace, outdoor Viking grills, and a large gazebo area. Also included are covered parking, on-site security, and on-site check-in. Escapes! To The Shores is located just East of the Red-Roofed Phoenix East Condo.

Come to Orange Beach and enjoy a water-oriented community situated on both the gulf and backwaters of the bays and river! It is a great home base for enjoying amusements, musical entertainment, water sports, deep-sea and inshore fishing, shopping, dining, dolphin cruises, nature hikes and more. Escapes to the Shores! is close to the Gulf State Park which offers beautiful hiking and biking trails. Enjoy outlet shopping at the famous Tanger Outlets.

This is a non-smoking unit and no pets are allowed.

Parking passes are available at the front desk located on the 3rd floor. Renters will be required to purchase a parking pass at the front desk using a debit/credit card at the rate of $50 per vehicle per stay – regardless of the duration of the stay. The renter must display pass on the front windshield at all times. Failure to display pass may result in towing of vehicle at renter's expense.

We can’t say enough about the condo, the amenities, the owner and the staff. This was the best stay we have had and we have been coming every year for last 20 years. So glad we found this property and we will definitely stay again!

Gordon is extremely rude and difficult to communicate with. The amenities offered are also subject to change or not exist any longer without notification. When we booked it was stated that free parking was available on site. I even confirmed this through messages prior to booking. I was assured that there would be free parking. A week before our trip I just happened to check the listing again and it then stated that parking would be charged per car. So I messaged to ask about the change and see if anything could be done since it’s not what was listed or discussed and I had not been notified about the change. Gordon responded very coldly that the change was out of his hands and out of his control and the fee would apply. Yes that’s true, it wasn’t in his control, however, what was in his control was a notification, an apology, and possibly a way to rectify the situation. None of that happened. It would have been different had I not asked specifically about the parking. So I asked if anything else could be offered just to help honor the previous agreement. Gordon then basically told me that “you get what you get and you shouldn’t complain because you’re already getting the deal of the year and I can’t believe you would even ask”. So much for honoring your word or your responsibility to customer service. He also said it would be the same as if the pool was closed- but a pool open or closed doesn’t cost my family extra money- or if I were asking him to control the gas prices….neither of us control that but as the owner of the condo he does control the renters experience during their stay. I told him that it wasn’t about the money but simply about respect and kindness and honoring your word. It could have begun and ended with a simple message saying “hey the rule changed and we are so very sorry!” This small situation was blown up because of an impolite mismanagement of the situation. It’s disappointing to be treated that way. So while the beach is nice, with so many other options of places to stay, I would definitely book somewhere else next time to avoid being talked to like a burden. Vicki should definitely always handle all communication with renters. If I had spoken with Gordon from the beginning I would not have booked here.
