Our host left us some bottles of water and some foodstuffs as a welcome - we hadn’t expected this and had our taxi driver stop briefly at a petrol station on the way there for water (10.55pm!). The oregano crisps were a little revelation.
Mike knocked on our door about 15mins after our arrival to give us some tips on local cuisine and places to go. Very helpful. He’s a lovely man and we appreciated his warmth and excellent English!
As seems to be the Greek way, the bed is like sleeping on a slab of stone so be warned. We were expecting this and took a self-inflating travel mattress with us in an extra large suitcase - this is a faff, yes, but we had such a dreadful week in 2024 in Rhodes that we vowed never again to trust beds abroad.
This apartment is a car/scooter/taxi journey from Kissamos town centre, so please don’t expect to walk uphill to it from town as it’s very hot and tiring. We had seen this on Google earth and had a hire scooter delivered to us the next morning, which we used for the week-long trip.
There is very little clothing storage as the unit in the bedroom is inadequate for anything folded, like underwear. We ended up leaving our main suitcase open on one of the lounge sofas. My partner put her clothing in the tv sideboard!
We could have done with one or two cleaning cloths to mop up floor spills - there’s a mop and bucket but that would have been overkill - and to wipe some of the dust and sand off of shoes and sandals. Also, there wasn’t a tea towel/hand towel for the kitchen. Just would have made a couple of processes quicker and easier. Not genuine complaints though!

Tout était parfait. Beaucoup de petites attentions et l’appartement était très pratique pour nous accueillir avec notre bébé !

Appartamento silenzioso, spazioso, con aria condizionata, mobili nuovi e con un bel terrazzo anche se al piano terra. Cucina ben fornita. Posizione a 30 min a piedi dal mare. Host gentilissimo: ci ha fatto trovare acqua, succo di frutta (già in frigorifero) e un cestino di frutta fresca. Inoltre ci ha dato accesso gratuito alla piscina del appartamento accanto nei giorni in cui non aveva prenotazioni.
Internet veloce e senza scatti.
La vista davanti all'appartamento non è bellissima anche se in lontananza si vede comunque il mare. Cuscini un po' scomodi.

We had a fantastic stay. Mike was welcoming and gave us helpful suggestions for exploring the island. The house was spotless and had everything we needed for a 5 days stay!
