Very clean and tidy and located in a nice area 5km out of Kaikoura. Good views from the mountain view room.
The rooms were designed with the disabled in mind, commendable, but it felt very clinical, particularly the bathrooms with hospital style fixtures, magnolia walls and wet room vinyl.
The toilet roll/dispenser was my biggest bug bear, being one of those public toilet types that you have to rummage around in in the hope of getting more than a sheet at a time. Totally unhygienic and impractical.
Just not very homely at all.

We have stayed here before and love the big rooms and the scenery. It has made us come back again.
The bed was too hard this time and pillows too big. Woke with a very sore neck. Once again the NZ motel showers are below average. We are embarrassed bringing overseas visitors to a motel where the shower is just a trickle. Please NZ do something about the useless showers.

We had the whole place to ourselves and it was very well equipped. Plus we enjoyed the table tennis table!
We found that our arrival instructions were sufficiently vague that we had to phone the host to find out which room we were in and where it was.

Great kitchen.
One square metre ‘private’ bathroom/toilet across a hallway from the bedroom and sleeping in a converted garage.
