Overall the stay was pleasant. We had a few minor things upon checkin like the door between the two units was locked and we had to wait for someone to open it. We never did receive a requested text for early checkin and there was a minor leak that they took care of immediately. Overall the unit is clean and communicating with the property manager and unit was easy through text messages. There were no plastic cups for the pool area so we bought some and donated them for the next people. There were beach chairs and umbrellas and the ice maker was a plus. They do not provide beach towels so I would recommend you bring your own. They only provide a few garbage bags and essentials, so be prepared to buy some. You can use and rewash the garbage bin if needed. There were roaches in the unit that we are hoping don’t come home with us. The unit was a treck away from the beach but got our steps in. We would stay again in this unit but would be a little better prepared. We were spoiled at our last place that we rented for over 10 years. We made a lot of great memories with our kids.

I have visited the Maui Banyan many times in the past 20 yrs. This unit is well located for summer time travelers. It does not get direct hit by the sun until sunset time, so it remains fairly cool during the day. It only has 1 AC unit in the living room, but the ceiling fans on the dining room and main bedroom provide enough air flow that the 1 AC is more than adequate when needed. The unit is very clean, and the appliances and kitchenware are updated. It also provides a lot of beach gear (7 beach chairs, and 3 beach umbrellas, 2 full-size and 2 small boogie boards), which saves you quite a bit on rental. The sofa bed is new, and very comfortable. The unit is fully equipped, and offers a large screen TV in the living room, and a smaller one on the small bedroom (unit Q408A). Both have cable access. Overall, the unit is great, and the management service is really attentive. The only minuses are that the bedrooms are carpeted (which can feel a bit dirty), but they were not dirty at the time we visited. Also, the washing machine sounds like it is about to fall apart when it goes into the squeeze cycle (really loud banging and screeching noises). Finally, I meant to bring it to the owner's attention. The main toilet (unit Q408) is starting to smell like sewer. I believe this is due to the toilet not having a calk around the bottom seam. Even with these minuses, I will be booking this unit again in the future. It seems to be well cared for.
