Gîte "La Sainte-Croix", Traditional Provencal House for 8 People, Private Swimming-Pool, Air-Conditioner, Beautiful Scenery

Great location, beautiful setting and lovely pool. Hosts were really friendly and house was comfy. Kitchen was well set up and loads of space/parking. Aircon was great.

Lack of shade around the pool made it hard to hang out there in the daytime as just too hot. Worth flagging that the 4th bedroom is in a separate building. Think some newer bed linen / towels for the house would be nice.

Das Haus ist in super gutem Zustand. Die Lage ist traumhaft, der Pool grossartig und der Vermieter flexibel, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Er redet allerdings nur französisch, was für uns etwas schwierig ist und wir ihm keinesfalls anlasten wollen.

Auch in diesem Jahr leider immer noch kein Wlan im „Elternzimmer“. Für das Datenroaming ist das etwas ungünstig. Wenn Zuhause gegessen wird fehlt mal ein Brot messer oder grosse Töpfe. Aber alles in allem ist es gut ausgerüstet. Das Einzige was uns wirklich störte war die Aufforderung ohne Sonnencreme ins Pool zu gehen. Wie soll das funktionieren? Verbringt man einen ganzen Tag am Pool mit Kindern ist das nicht machbar. Es fehlt eine Aussendusche.

Stunning views and tranquility. Accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable with a great swimming pool. Hosts were very welcoming.

To be aware - Walk into town was longer than advertised realistically 3km. Walk back is all uphill so trainers essential . Fine for us but not suitable for everyone. Driveway to the house is over 200m of dirt track - not suitable for low slung cars.

We were welcomed by the owners upon arrival. They allowed us in 1 hour earlier as we were ahead of schedule. The property is a third generation asset in very good condition. The owner is rightfully proud of it. It is situated in the middle of vineyards, with the hills and Mount Ventoux visible from the patio and swimming pool. Some people put in the reviews that it was not easy to find, but we were given exact instructions on the day, and had no trouble finding it. The entire property is air-conditioned which was much appreciated with very high temps during our stay. The rooms are large with sufficient storage room. The bathroom has a double sink with a shower that works well. The kitchen has all amenities and contains basic items such as salt, pepper, herbs, coffee etc. The dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier are in perfect working order. The living room has a comfortable settee and a very big television screen with Netflix, Prime, etc. The wifi works perfectly fine in the living room, kitchen and dining room, but won't reach as far as the patio, or the upstairs. The outside space is brilliant, with petanque, a BBQ, pizza oven, outdoor kitchen and not to be forgotten, a beautiful pool. The owner walked us through the property to make sure all questions were answered and to show us how to use the cleaning robot in the pool, as well as how to replace the chlorine tablets. Make sure to have a look outside at night time, the lights from the village are enchanting. In the heart of the Provence, surrounded by hills, vineyards and the sound of crickets, we had a truly lovely stay at Sainte Croix.

There are not many negatives about this property. There is one item that the owners cannot do much about and that is the sheer number of wasps around the pool. The wasps are not aggressive, they come to the pool to drink, but obviously you want to avoid stepping on them. I dislike wasps much but started getting used to them towards the end of the stay. If you don't bother them, they won't bother you.
