About this house rental
Shore Thing is located near the beautiful sandy beaches of Lake Michigan, in a prime Beachwalk location (3rd house from Lake Shore Drive!). The house is located in the acclaimed Beachwalk community.
Shore Thing has six bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, plus sofa bed in the finished basement. We have plenty of space for your family get-together, with plenty of bedrooms and plenty of gathering and entertaining space inside and outside! Plus, the perfect location close to Lake Michigan and the Beachwalk pool. Shore Thing is one of only a handful of wheelchair accessible homes in Beachwalk, so everyone in the family can be included in the fun!
The first floor has an open plan with the kitchen and living room, with plenty of space for the entire family to gather. Eat in kitchen, 4 seats at the kitchen island, 10 seats at the reclaimed wood kitchen table. The living room has a fireplace and Smart TV with YouTube HDTV. The finished basement features another separate large living area, with ping pong table, wet bar, full bath, board games, HDTV, and Nintendo Wii gaming system. The basement sectional also has a pull out couch.
There are also plenty of outdoor spaces for the family to enjoy! The front lower porch is screened in and has a picnic table for six with additional seating. We have a brand new large Weber natural gas grill. The upper porch has seating and views of Beachwalk Lane, and the 3rd floor porch has views of the dunes and across Beachwalk.
Shore Thing is child friendly with booster seat, pack n' play, and ample games and toys. We also have beach chairs, coolers, and wagons.
There are 6 bedrooms across 3 floors, 2 on the first floor, 3 on the second floor, and 1 on the third floor, plus a sofa bed in the basement.
The master suite has a king bed, plus the private master bath with a large newly renovated bathroom and access to the 2nd floor deck. The second floor also features a queen bedroom, with access to a private back deck, and to the "Jack N Jill" bathroom. And the 3rd bedroom on the second floor is set up for the kids with a twin-over-full that also adjoins the Jack-N-Jill. All three second floor bedrooms have flat-screen smart TVs.
On the 3rd floor there is a daybed with trundle, the perfect escape for the tweens, older cousins or the aunts or uncles who need some space. The 3rd floor also has a desk for the family member who needs to check in at the office during the vacation (hey, it happens!), Smart TV, and access to the 3rd floor deck with gorgeous views! Conference calls or maybe some yoga al fresco, anyone?

The Beachwalk community features various amenities unique to our community. Highlights are the pool and kiddie pool, basketball court, tennis courts, playground, cafe, and man made Lake Kai that is ideal for family fishing, kayaking, or paddle boarding.
While Lake Michigan steps away is the major highlight, there is so much more to experience in the surrounding area! Shore Thing is located less than one and a half miles from Washington Park, the Michigan City Zoo, The Blue Chip Casino, and Lighthouse Place Outlet Mall. Just down the road is Mt. Baldy (a fun, easy family hike!) and the Indiana Dunes National Park. Slightly further are many more beaches in southwest Michigan, and many breweries and wineries! Great restaurants and shopping can be found in Downtown Michigan City and every town in Southwest Michigan.

Great location! Easily fit 12 adults with plenty of eating space and sleep areas. Close walk to the beach and plenty of beach supplies (wagon, chair, toys). We felt very safe in the neighborhood, which was very family-friendly.

The property was as good as advertised. The location is perfect being just three houses from the boardwalk to the beach. Getting two wagons full of beach gear and toys to the beach was a breeze! Close proximity to the resort's pool was also a plus for us.The house was clean and orderly upon arrival. The bedroom setae accommodated our family with small children quite well (Two 3 years old, and two 1 year old). The kitchen was well equipped, Having small children, we ate in for most meals and the kids were happy. The supply of linens was good for our group. Our group of eleven tended to gather in the open great room/kitchen area where there was plenty of seating and room for the kiddos to play.I would also like to compliment our host Jason who reached out several times over the week to make sure that our stay was perfect. I highly recommend "Shore Thing" and hope that your family has as much fun as we did!

Our family and extended family has been coming to Beachwalk community for years. This was one of three houses in the community that we rented for the week. This house clearly had the best up keep, had toys for the little people, was clean, was close to the beach and the owner was super polite and responsive to me. This was a fantastic place to stay!
