Wonderful historic building in a lovely setting, superbly peaceful and comfortable.

A very beautiful place with plenty of space. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was wonderful, with a great view of the gardens. Overall, it was an excellent place to stay overnight, and I would happily recommend it.

The only downside is that the property is located off the main Camino de Santiago route. You'll need to take a taxi back to the Camino in Palas de Rei or walk an additional 2–3 hours. The road is paved and very quiet, so it's worth planning your transportation in advance. However, if you're looking for a peaceful setting away from the crowds, the location can also be a positive.

We were really looking forward to staying here after seeing the beautiful pictures of this hotel. Didn’t mind paying more and being a bit out of the way. Unfortunately. Neither the beauty or the surroundings of this hotel could make up for the lack of warmth and hospitality we experienced. The main focus was to hurry us to dinner and breakfast within their time frames and heard us out. They just wanted to get rid of all their guests as soon as possible. Dinner was an all around bad experience. We were made to feel like an imposition rather than a valued guest. Breakfast was much the same. Pre scrambled eggs in a pan and giant cups of watered down coffee. Absolutely tasteless. Not what you’d expect from hotel of this caliber. There’s nothing to do there, no amenities offered. It’s in the middle of nowhere and though they have a shuttle bus we were told to call a cab Not at all worth it.
