Spotlessly clean, good location with a few coffee houses and restaurants in the neighborhood, friendly and very helpful owner who connected me with a nice driver (Erwin) for a day trip. Breakfast can be purchased for 70,000rp; it was good.

The room generally was great, but the lower part of the door has louvers/slats (like a window shutter) that let in noise from other guests talking in the hallway as well as several mosquitos :(

Everything very good here ! Marlah, the owner, was a very lovely person. She booked me on the bus to Rante Pao and drove me to the bus depot. At Rante Pao, I stayed at Monika Hotel (one of Aunty Marlah's relatives) and this homestay was excellent too. Astro was my guide, and for two days he drove me through all the back tracks and to a funeral, as well as the graves and effigies on the cliff faces. Astro has good English and is very highly recommended !

The room was clean

- The room did not have wifi, which was an issue for me as I needed to work. Fortunately, the 4G coverage in the area is good so I was able to use my hotspot for meetings. - There was no coffee available, although this was mentioned in the listing. Despite asking, we were told coffee could not be provided. - There was no water refill station. Though the host did very kindly give us small bottles of water, a lack of refill resulted in a lot of plastic waste over just two nights - The bed was very uncomfortable and the room was quite noisy and needs some maintenance - There was a long list of house rules that felt somewhat strict. For example, guests are not allowed to return after 10 PM as they lock the door at that time, and we were told to leave the room key downstairs when going out, which felt a bit unusual and uncomfortable.
