About this house rental

Enjoy gorgeous forest views submerged in nature nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Roast s’mores around the fire pit year round (wood not included), grill/dine out on the vista-licious deck and patio or explore the 20 acres of mostly wooded mountainside that makes up Camp Davis.

This rustic modern retreat features an open concept layout with ample cozy seating that leads into a fully stocked kitchen with all the cooking essentials (excluding perishables like salt, pepper, oil, etc.) and large farmhouse style dining table

The 3 bedrooms (2 kings, 1 full) and queen sofa bed comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests. The one level living space is perfect for an intimate couple’s retreat as well.

The Camp Davis Condo is just an hour west of Washington, D.C., 9 miles from Shenandoah National Park outside the quintessential ‘small town’ of Front Royal & conveniently located in the heart of Virginia wine country only a couple miles from both Appalachian Trail and Shenandoah River public access points.

Lake Frederick, Turner Pond, The State Arboretum, Shenandoah River State Park, Sky Meadow State Park, Skyline Caverns, Luray Caverns, several breweries, trail ride stables, orchards and ‘pick your own’ farms are all within close proximity.

The four season town of Front Royal hosts a darling pedestrian friendly Main Street featuring locally owned retail markets, delectable dining, bakeries, coffee shops, movie theater, bowling alley, roller skating rink, Virginia Beer Museum, public library, yoga/Thai chi studios, several quality parks with uniquely themed playgrounds and picnic pavilions in addition to Martin’s Grocery, Walmart and Target.

The Camp Davis Condo linen inventory includes: full bedding for 4 beds, 10 bath towels, 10 wash cloths, 11 hand towels, 2 dish towels, 10 cloth napkins and 5 reusable cleaning cloths. Amenities also include hand soap, body soap, shampoo, bubble bath, dish soap and coffee filters. The kitchen is equipped with drip coffee maker, dishwasher, stove/oven, frig, microwave, pots, pans, bakeware, plates, bowls, mugs, drinkware and utensils.

Camp Davis hosts two retreat homes, The Condo (which this listing is for) and The Cabin. The main entrances and main views of The Condo and The Cabin look in opposite directions so both feel very private. Both retreats offer private entrances, private parking, private fire pits, decks and yard space. The Condo and The Cabin at Camp Davis sit on 20 acres of agriculturally zoned land unique from most local vacation homes set in residentially zoned neighborhood settings.

The condo offers lots of space and privacy. It is within a 20-minute drive to the north entrance of Shenandoah National Park and the town of Front Royal. Our dogs loved the open space. The rooms are large and there is ample room, but it lacks some bare necessities to make it a great stay. If water pressure is your thing, this place has a terrific spray in the shower. If you're using the space as a pit stop from the trails then the absence of a TV may not be an issue. The lack of a fully working stove or some basic kitchen tools - like a spatula - will burden some cooks. Coming from out of state, the concept of transporting our trash from the residence to an offsite facility 15 minutes away was surprising. They're closed on Wednesdays (our departure day), so plan accordingly. (We were not aware.)
