Untertauern is a small but pretty town, beautifully located on the north side of the Radstädter Tauern Pass. The historic town is more than 1,000 metres above sea level and appears to have had a post house as far back as Roman times. There is evidence that the first hotel in Untertauern was established in the 14th century.

As a winter sports enthusiast, the region is just right for you! The Obertauern ski area and the Radstadt ski area can be reached in just 10 minutes by car. Obertauern is known for its snow guarantee. Do you prefer cross-country skiing? Then discover the cross-country fun on the Gnadenalm. Here you will find 15 km of well-prepared cross-country ski runs.

In summer, you will enjoy pure relaxation in Untertauern. During a beautiful hike through the mountains, take a break in one of the rustic mountain huts and enjoy tasty local dishes. For culture lovers, a day trip to the Mozart city of Salzburg is a must from here
