Well located in Dalston with shops and pub within 100 yards. Enough room for our overnight stay. Careful not to trip over the beam in the bedroom on the way to the loo.

Booking for the Lovely Scenic View? This is the One!

A very small and unique flat is very comfortable during the summer time by how chill the floors can be during the day to night time. The host was very nice in clearing the bins and made sure the place was nice, welcoming, and spotless, including providing casual things like a lovely mixing bowl when mentioned. It really is a gorgeous hidden gem. It's based in a lovely little village with an eight minute train ride into Carlisle or anywhere else along the western coast. Being here, you are in the perfect place to do anything from shopping in the Carlisle lanes to visiting the lovely countryside as far as Caldbeck. It's really a great middle ground, and the pricing is well worth it for the comfort and accessibility!

I do not recommend walking around in the upstairs without the light on! As even with them on, I occasionally bumped my head on the wooden posts or the slanted ceiling. It's also very easy to stub your toes.

Lovely Cumbrian getaway 😁

The Annex was well appointed and cozy. It was cleaned to a high standard and made our weekend break relaxing. The wood burner is a nice touch too for cozy evenings.

The facilities are adequate but basic, a few things would have come in handy like oven gloves and a side table for drinks but nothing major that you can’t do without for a few days!

Unusual, compact well located place to stay.

Very quirky, unusual place to stay. The upstairs is fascinating- exposed beams and low ceilings but includes a bath and washing machine. We loved the compactness of the whole property and it suited us as a couple. It’s very well located in the centre with good access to a supermarket, chip shop, pub and a lovely local butcher. The WiFi was very good too.

Perhaps a better dining table and chairs as they felt a bit rickety. Also the name and number on the external door would have been helpful too.

Northern road trip

We loved the quirkiness of the place. It had all that we needed and was comfortable. It's great that there is a multifuel fire in the property, sadly we did not get to use it as weather was warm so not needed.

Loved and didn't love it!

Beautiful apartment, well equipped and decorated. Everything we needed. We loved the log burner, but the apartment wouldn't have been warm enough for our old bones without it. Logs and kindling at the butchers opposite (along with excellent pies) Location great for visiting Carlisle. Local shops very convenient and easy parking most,y outside the apartment. The owner popped in on our first day to welcome us.

Upstairs! While beautifully set out, the low beams were a hazard especially the one across the floor. I was quite anxious,especially at night. Also, it took us some time to find the light switches. This is all very personal. The apartment is really lovely...just not for us.

Home from home!

Loved the standard of restoration- the beams were gorgeous! On the whole my experience was a very pleasant one. Anna was very warm and accommodating before and after the stay. Thanks Anna

Nothing I didn’t like however for me a couple of things would have added to my experience: A small amount of washing powder for one load A pair of scissors in the cutlery drawer A small amount of ground coffee for the cafetière Small things I know so no criticism intended ;-)

Great property and host

We actually stayed at the hosts other property (booking.com accidentally double booked, the host kindly gave us their other property in Carlisle which was free but booking.com didn't update the booking details for the host). Lovely property (photos don't do it justice), clean and free parking available. Biscuits, teas and milk kindly provided. Host was very approachable and helpful. We had a great stay. Lots to see in Carlisle! Thank you!

Excellent stay. Highly recommended.

An ideal stop off for us to break our journey up to Scotland. Great comms from our host . We spent a couple of nights in the very pleasant village. 2 pubs (both do food). A large co op , a chippy, walks in a park adjacent to a river & a church. Also close to Carlisle for a day out. The accommodation is excellent. Bed really comfy. I’m 6’1” and coped with the low beams and size of the accommodation no problem. Would stay again.

Perfect location. Home from home. Fabulous facilities. Host took great care setting out everything inside the property. Very clean which, is a must for us. The host is around in case of queries and very responsive and very nice. Would stay there again.

Beam on ground from bed to bathroom, which I’m not used to but, you soon remember!! Part and parcel of staying in a converted gorgeous little house! Nothing else, just perfect home from home. Will return without hesitation. Just love it and so happy with our choice.
