The area.

Villa Ami is within the sought after village called ‘Torre delle Stelle‘ that literally means ‘Tower of the stars’. The village is named after an ancient tower that dominates the whole area. All streets are also named after stars and constellations.

The villa was built to a high standard and in compliance with the most recent Italian building regulations. It is therefore fully certified in terms of health and safety. The position it occupies is particularly happy. It is, in fact, at very short walking distance from all the local amenities. The nearest bar, shop and restaurant are 100 m away. The nearby beach is 300 m away and it is walkable by children as well.

Shops and amenities.

Torre delle Stelle is an environmentally protected area and its beauty has been enchanting visitors since it was created 40 years ago. It has therefore become one of the most sought after areas of South Sardinia. Torre delle Stelle has 2 easily accessible sandy beaches, Genn’e Mari and Cannesisa. It also boasts a few sandy and rocky coves that can be reached either by boat, kayak or swimming.

There are shops, restaurants, bars and pizzeria in the village. Torre delle Stelle is, however, only partly inhabited all year round. Shops and restaurants are therefore not opened every day of the year. They are normally opened every day (7 days a week) from mid May to the end of October. For the rest of the year one of the supermarkets and the nearby bars are opened from Friday to Sunday included. It is therefore possible to stock up with groceries and food during the weekend. Another option would be to go to one of the supermarkets on the way to Cagliari. The drive is of roughly 15 minutes. Beach bars are usually opened from June to September.

Activities.

Both local beaches are ideal for snorkelling and for scuba diving.

Torre delle Stelle, thanks to its position, is the area of Sardinia that enjoys the longest summer. It is in fact said to have her own micro climate.

The beach.

The nearby sandy beach is absolutely gorgeous and the sea is very safe for children. I have been holidaying here since my youngest child was 6 months old and my eldest 3. I still believe that it would have been difficult to find a better location for us.

Amenities and what to do…

Snorkelling and scuba diving are a real delight in both beaches. Torre delle Stelle also has a scuba diving school that amongst other things organises deep-sea excursions for experienced scuba-divers. A real favorite in the nearby beach is an ancient warship located 1.5 miles away from the beach and 56 m down the sea (for expert scuba divers).

Other amenities in the village include: tennis courts, football pitch, basketball grounds and playground.

Torre delle Stelle is situated on the South-East coast of Sardinia. Cagliari, Sardinia’s main town, and its airport are 37 km away. Villasimius and its wonderful beaches are less than 20 km away.

We had a very pleasant stay at Villa Ami.The villa was beautiful, bright, and peaceful. It is well shielded by hedges, providing a great deal of privacy. The only minor challenge is the access road, which is quite narrow. The transition from the street to the driveway is a bit tricky due to a small hill, especially for cars with a low clearance. It’s just a 3-minute walk to the supermarket, which has a well-stocked fresh food counter offering meat, cheese, antipasti, and baked goods. Across the street, there is a fish shop selling very fresh and tasty fish. The restaurant right next door is also highly recommended, with a well-balanced menu. The beach is, as described, 300 meters away and very beautiful. It lies in a bay and is not overcrowded. We found the area to be very local and authentic, which we really appreciated. If we travel to the area again, we would definitely book Villa Ami once more and can highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful time at Villa Ami, and would definitely book again. The pool was great for cooling off (about 4 feet deep) but we preferred going to the beach. White sand, smooth bottom making it a delight to wade in the water, and some of the clearest water I've ever seen. If you're traveling 'off season' make sure you read the previous reviews. We visited in late May and there were limited restaurant options within walking distance (e.g., one only open on weekends till June, and required reservations). Luckily the well stocked market and friendly coffee shop were open in the mornings. If you don't mind cooking (or driving further afield) the upside of this time of year is few crowds! Likes - the location is perfect, easy and short walk to the beach, market and restaurants (when open) - kitchen was well equipped for basic cooking - the villa was very clean and uncluttered, bright and comfortable -the pool was nice and not too cold in mid/late May - the wifi worked very well for us - although we didn’t use the air conditioning much it seemed to work well. We found ourselves turning it on for a few minutes before we went to sleep to cool down the bedrooms - we found the beds to be comfortable, we slept well (the pillows were a bit too puffy for us) - easy communication with the host Wishes - it would have been lovely to have a couple of pool floats to lounge on - the recycling is a bit complicated for us (non-Europeans) and sometimes the items were not picked up.

Rosangela was quite responsive. Always within the hour I would receive an answer to my questions, and frankly, usually within a few minutes. The house was exactly like the photos. It was a quiet and relaxing location with the beach easily reachable just a few minutes by foot. Rosangela was very helpful with suggestions about the area and even helped with our Argritourismo dinner booking! I can recommend the location to any family the local beach and grocery store make it a location where you can spend the entire week without needing. to hop in your car.

Clean but basic. Very good bathrooms. Cheap Bedding. Access to property not clearly explained. Property only checked at the beginning of the season. We went in September and equipment was damaged or broken. Area lovely and locals extremely helpful
