Summary:
You'll be blown away when you walk through the entryway and are warmly greeted with an expansive view of the turquoise and sapphire Caribbean Sea, the waves breaking just 12 feet away from you. The views are simply stunning, with the sea so close it's magical as you fall asleep to the soothing sounds. This large villa is majestic, yet a warm and welcoming vacation rental that's great for extended families or larger groups.
The ground level terrace has an inviting Baja Shelf splash pool, with a Fountain and bubblers. It transforms into a stunning water feature when the lights come on at night. Bask with your favorite beverage in a lounge chair in the pool, sit for a relaxing soak or let the little ones enjoy the shallow area.There's an impressive mural with Jorge the dragon on the North pool patio wall because well, every Castle needs a Dragon.
The two Oceanfront Suites open to a second level million dollar Sunrise view patio. A sweet second level morning coffee terrace on the street side of the property is perfect for watching Isla Mujeres come to life at the start of each day - or parade watching.
Our 4th level rooftop terrace provides 360 degree views of the entire island that can't be beat - a great place for working out, sunset cocktails and romantic stargazing.
This gorgeous villa is uniquely decorated with custom tapestries, each an individual work of an artist.
Ceiling fans are generously placed, circulating gentle sea breezes throughout the home. Each suite has individual temperature controls - both A/C and quiet, high quality ceiling fans.
The Space:
FIRST LEVEL The first floor boasts a large great room, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, an indoor dining area all with floor to ceiling disappearing sliding glass doors. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first level, one bathroom is ensuite with a tub. Both the lower level Master Suite and the North Oceanfront Suite have king beds that may be configured as 2 twins, with advanced notice. There is a double sized futon on the first floor, and a futon on the second floor in the North suite.
SECOND LEVEL The second level features mirrored Oceanfront Suites with king beds, full bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, coffee makers, blenders and more. Living areas include comfortable seating, swivel mounted Smart TVs and high speed wifi. Sliders open to an Oceanfront Terrace with stunning Caribbean views with seating area and afternoon shade.

The whole house features pressurized water, on demand hot water and rain style shower heads in all bathrooms.

Getting Around:
Castillito del Caribe is just a short walk along the Caribbean Sea to restaurants, shops, nightlife and Playa Norte (North Beach) which has been ranked #1 Best Beaches in Mexico! Since this home is close to all of Isla Mujeres' downtown action - restaurants, shops, nightlife and beaches NO GOLF CART IS NEEDED (avoids sobriety checkpoints ;-). Although you may want to rent one just for a day to explore the enchantment of the rest of the Island.

Please pay close attention to the note I've quoted below which is toward the bottom of the information given about the rental on VRBO. This property might be exactly what you want or it might not work for you at all.
The downstairs unit has two bedrooms and two baths, a living room with a pull-out couch, dining area, and kitchen, which is no longer as well stocked as some reviews have indicated. The pool, which is smaller than the photo suggests, is right outside this unit.
The stairways to the two suites on the second floor are both on the poolside and streetside, and they are outside this unit and totally separate from it.
The third floor is up another set of stairs which are outside the units and also totally separate from the others.
The pool is shared by all renters, regardless of whether they are part of the same group, and it is quite small.
The view of the ocean from the property is beautiful, but it is not swimmable, nor is there a walkable beach.
The whole property is much more like a motel than a house or hotel, even if all three floors are rented by one group.
If you want a feel for life on Isla Mujeres rather a touristy situation, it's in a great location. It's also close to the ferry but pretty far from North Beach, though it is walkable.

Great place to stay in Isla. Right on the east side promenade, easy walk into town and to beautiful playa norte, but outside the busier tourist areas which we appreciated.

We love, love, loved our stay! The villa was clean and comfortable, the location was absolutely perfect, the view was spectacular, and the owners were great. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend and stay again!
