Property was as advertised, clean and comfortable. We were a group of five and everyone had their own space. Also, house was centrally located to places we visited such as Asheville, Gatlinburg and Deals Gap.

We stayed at this location for mini truck nationals and it was a great location for the show at the fair grounds. We saw elk most mornings.The house itself is equipped with everything you’ll need in the kitchen. All the linens are provided. The landlord is very responsive and answers any questions. They mention trailer parking, I’m not sure a car trailer could be accommodated but a motorcycle trailer could. Would stay at this house again

This cabin was great for me and my family. My two kids loved the air hockey table and corn hole in the basement, and taking neighborhood walks. We saw Elk! It’s very close to the ski mountain and tube world. The beds are very comfortable, and the house was clean.

The home is beautiful. Very clean and loved the little Christmas tree, all the rooms decorated nicely with higher end things instead of dirty and chipped pieces and dishes. This home you could tell they took pride in their things and cared about their guests being comfortable. The creek out back is beautiful along with the screened porch.

We really loved the house and enjoyed our long weekend over Thanksgiving. We had little delay with the heat at first but once the unit was reset we got it on track. Host was easy to contact and deal with. Overall experience was great, will come back.

this is a very old house. pictures make it look like a great place. NOT. Very poor lighting throughout house. drainage in bathroom sinks are so slow {or stopped up} you have to wait to finish brushing teeth and washing hands. bedside tables so small, big enough for small lamp. my cpap machine would not rest on it. Very out dated . Desperately needs lots of work. we wiil not be a repeat

Our family of 5 love staying in Maggie Valley and this place was cute and had plenty of room to spread out. We ventured to Bust your Butt Falls, Pretty Place, Looking Glass Falls, Clingman's Dome, Cades Cove, Alum Cave, Soco Falls, tubing in Cherokee, as well as shopping in Asheville and Gatlinburg. We've never eaten at a bad restaurant in Maggie Valley. Our girls loved the air hockey table and chess board. The Elk were right our front almost every night. Even though it's behind Soco Rd the creek helped make it a very quiet stay. Thank you for the memories we were able to make this year.

The property is a little tricky to find, especially in the dark, but we managed just fine. The rock walkway from the driveway to the front door is a major tripping hazard, and the wooden borders are slippery as ice when wet or damp, but other than that it was perfect. Once inside you could see it was well cleaned and maintained. The smell of the fireplace was a bit overwhelming at first but then brought back childhood memories of cabins long since forgotten. Plenty of room to relax and unwind. There is even a very nice screened-in porch in rear of home to sit and listen to the mesmerizing sounds of rushing stream below. The property even offered the use of a one car garage under the home, if needed. We kept our motorcycle there one night when it rained. All in all, a perfect getaway nestled in the woods. A dozen elk meandered through nightly, looking for a bite to eat safe from any traffic. Highly recommended place to stay. We were there for eight days, but we could have stayed there for months. We will be back when we return to Maggie Valley.

Beautiful home in an established neighborhood. Clean and maintained. The neighborhood elk came by for a visit! So exciting. They just pose for pictures. The only downside is the only access to the home are steep stairs. If you have issues with steps this might not be the best place for you. But I understand Kathy manages other homes that might suite you better.

Loved the property. Very beautiful on the creek. Clean with comfortable beds. 5 minutes from The Blue Ridge Parkway. The Buttered Biscuit on 19 is a must for breakfast. Maggie Valley Tavern another fun place for dinner or drinks. Cabin is 10 minutes from Wheels Through Time. Would definitely stay here again.

Cabin was very nice. All beds and furniture were comfortable. Only cons were the transition between the hardwood floors and the kitchen tile also the front walkway was very uneven and hard to walk on especially when wet. Other than that I would stay there again. Love being able to sit in the screened porch and listen to the creek. There was also a new gazebo and deck on the lower level that was not mentioned when I booked the cabin.

We liked the river behind the cabin. It was nice making fires in the wood burning fireplace. It was located only a short drive to Maggie valley restaurants and shops. The house was very clean! The only thing is that it was difficult to complete all checkout procedures by 10:30 AM. If you check out later than that, the instruction sheet says guests will be charged for an extra day. You must take a 30+ minute round trip drive to the nearest waste dump facility to take all trash. Guests will be charged extra if trash is left at the cabin. Guests must also wash dry and put away all dishes, or else they will be charged. This was difficult to do as the dishwasher takes ~1.5+ hours to run. We were in a rush to get the dishwasher emptied and house cleaned to avoid fines. We also had to provide our own paper towels, toilet paper, etc. This was probably the most involved checkout rules we have had to follow. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the house.

The reservation process was seamless. The photos of the outside were a little deceiving as it seems like there’s a huge yard surrounding and that’s not really the case. It was a little hard for my 92 yr old mother to walk from the driveway then the cobblestone walkway: same for our 1 yr old toddler. There was not enough outside lighting on the corner of the house so coming and going at night was a little difficult! The cabin itself was awesome. Lots of family time room, well equipped kitchen and bedrooms were accommodating. I was not pleased about the trash situation and had to carry 6 bags of trash in my car home with me because of no trash receptacles at the cabin. There seemed to be more personal responsibility on the renter than I’m used to. Most services are included. Overall very nice and we enjoyed our family time immensely!

We had a wonderful week!!! The owner is amazing!! The property is in great condition and we loved the open living room/kitchen and the fireplace on the cool fall nights. The kitchen is very well stocked. The screen room was so nice to sit in and listen to the stream. We loved the location between Maggie Valley and Cherokee. We hope to come back next year. Overall an excellent week!

Although we were expecting more seclusion, the cabin is in a nice corner of the neighborhood! We enjoyed the front porch as well as the back screened in porch for our dinners and game nights! We had the excitement of seeing 3 large elk cross the property! What a beautiful sight! The cabin was spacious, clean and inviting! We would definitely recommend and love to visit again!

This is a nice house, very comfortable, very clean in a great location. It was perfect for our needs and our 4 week stay. There were some minor irritants: the dishwasher locking latch is broken (we used dental floss to lock it), there were some ants in the bath rooms (used Hotshot), the garage door is too tight for our SUV, and we never did figure out how to smoothly change channels on the TV's in the bedrooms. All those are minor and did not impact our stay. We would stay here again except for the number of stair-steps to the garage to use the washer and dryer (we are senior citizens). Overall, we had a wonderful vacation due in no small part to "Up the Creek."
