Chalet Setsugekka

Hakuba is not exactly the easiest town to get around but Yuri, acting as our concierge and hostess, went above and beyond to make our travels smooth, convenient, timely, and easy. She answered a ton of questions from our group of 7 to our satisfaction, helped with luggage shipping/ delivery, helped with dinner reservations, gave us important information, and did it all with a charming smile and a laugh. In short, she turned a great trip into an awesome one. Also the chalet was modern, comfortable, and perfect for our group. The location was fantastic with short walks to everything we needed.

We really liked everything. No complaints.

The check in was a bit delayed but the host was very nice and accommodating. We have a one year old with us so waiting around town in the cold with our car for a late check in was not ideal.

Most ski houses should have a humidifier. This house did not. The floors downstairs are heated which can get pretty dry.

Very good location. Well equipped. Very cozy and make you feel lile home.

The washing machine sometimes doesn't dry properly

First and foremost.... the host Yuri was fantastic! Talk about service with a smile. Some one who genuinely enjoys her time with guests. She was over and above super responsive to any requests or questions we had, honestly couldn't have had better! The accommodation itself was well looked after, everything worked as advertised, still felt brand new. Comfortable (firm) beds, well equipped kitchen, drying room for gear was fantastic, washer/dryer worked superbly. Location is fantastic with heated driveway for 2 cars (no shoveling to dig your car out every morning!) and also reasonably good access to shuttle buses (but we didn't use them as we had hired a car). Ideal for Goryu/Hakuba47, HappoOne and Wadano. Reasonably short drive to Iwatake and Tsugaike.

Just about the only complaint we can muster would be that the dishwasher was a bit small but honestly, it's a very minor complaint.
