The Thornhill Suite is also on the first floor and is a three bedroom apartment, one bedroom en-suite. Perfect for family or group holidays.
Situated on the banks of the Boro River, in the heart of County Wexford, Wilton Castle is surrounded by open parkland and quiet wooded countryside. A part of the local landscape since 1247, when the first fortified tower was built on the land, Wilton Castle has a long tradition of hospitality. The grounds were open to the public in the 1800s, which prompted one observer in 1852 to write that ‘not only are strangers permitted to walk over the grounds but even their horses are cared for’.
Although visitors now come to Wilton Castle by car.,This beautiful castle with its soaring chimney stacks and turreted towers, once again opens its doors. Wilton Castle has been lovingly restored from ruin by its present owner and can now be enjoyed as a private self hire venue, ideal for holidays, weddings and those special occasions.
Wilton Castle has four suites which are available as self-catering or on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
Decorated and furnished with a timeless appeal, each suite has its own kitchen and sitting room with working fireplace. Named after four families who have resided at Wilton over the years, the Butler Suite, Furlong suite, Alcock Suite and the Thornhill Suite are finished to a very high standard with delicate wallpaper, dark wooden floorboards and heritage colours throughout.

Our stay at Wilton Castle was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. As soon as we were led to our rooms, we regretted not booking for more nights. Our family of six stayed comfortably in the Thornhill Suite and loved every minute of it. The beds were comfortable, the apartment well stocked and cosy. The grounds are gorgeous. It was late November, so we had the whole castle to ourselves. An amazing value. Highly recommend!

Our small group stayed at Wilton Castle to celebrate my 70th birthday. We stayed in the Thornhill Suite, which has three bedrooms and two baths, a living room and kitchen. Our apartment was very clean and spacious and overlooked the Boro River and the lovely grounds of the castle. Sean was very prompt in getting us checked in and even helped with our luggage and suggested places to dine. I can see why there are so many weddings held here. The scenery and castle are absolutely stunning.

We stayed here for two nights with our four children in the Thornhill Suite. After several months of restrictions and stressful times, we were looking for a safe break away and total relaxation. Oh we got this, and so much more! Total luxury, space for everyone, absolute peace in the most beautiful setting. The main building is fabulous and renovated to such a high standard and the old building ruins and grounds are stunning.
