Friday evening of our stay there was a typical pop up thunderstorm. Normal for summers in the south. Lasted maybe an hour. The ceiling in the ONLY BATHROOM leaked all over our things and water ran into the main bedroom downstairs. I reached out to the property management company immediately. They sent maintenance. Fine. I’m let them know I was leaving for a hotel for the last two days of our stay, as it is completely unacceptable to expect us to stay in the home, and only asked for a refund on the last two nights we wouldn’t use. I cleaned the house out as required for checkout, let them know, spoke with property management by phone, text, and chat and as of Monday morning, I am still being told they “put a request in to the owner” for a refund. VRBO is no help and said they can’t do anything since our stay is over. So, in working with the host, as they asked us to do, we got no help whatsoever. For an otherwise nice property that we enjoyed, it was surely a crappy way to end this trip. I do have both photos and videos to show this event occurring, which were all sent to the host, if needed or anyone is curious. Those water stains on the bathroom ceiling are not old and just need painting, there is an active leak at the time of our stay. I am still waiting to see if the owner will refund us the two nights we chose not to stay in the house with one unusable bathroom. Will update review if a resolution is made.

Overall, it looks as described. Beautiful decor. Very close to boardwalk. The landscaping in back yard needs attention and my children could not stop sneezing due to what may have been dust allergens. Overall, good stay.

The inside of the house was nice. The outside did not look like the picture at all. Overgrown landscaping. Very deceiving. It looked like an abandoned house in the country because of the over trees, I couldn’t back down the driveway without my car making an emergency stop. Bring your own bath towels. Towels provided were too small.We had to leave a day early due to a family….Thank Goodness

The property was great when our group arrived to participate in a local mission effort in July (which we attend each summer). Unfortunately, hurricane Beryl loomed close and we had to evacuate further north for safety. Due to power outages, we were not allowed to return. We were initially offered an alternative for another date. When a request was made in January to secure the property for another date, we were told too much time had passed and the reservation would not be honored. It was a fair request as the host had made the offer. I would caution anyone who considers this property

The place was immaculate, well stocked, and in a prime location, within walking distance to a lot of places, including Kemah! The upstairs loft area has 3 queen beds around a room and the downstairs master has a king bed. It only has 1 bathroom, which made it tricky trying to get going in the morning.

Excellent location and property, however, upon arrival at check in, the home was not cleaned at all from the previous guests. We had to put the towels in the washer, take out the trash and wipe the counter tops. Food in the sink as well and beds unmade. We were compensated for the issue but not a good first impression.

We have been to Kemah before as a family, but this time we decided to rent a beach house for a better experience Russell was incredibly prompt with every question I had which made the booking experience a breeze! The house was absolutely darling and spacious for our family of four. There was plenty of room to bring easy meals for the evening and convenient enough to walk down to the boardwalk and enjoy a night with the family. We will definitely be looking to book again! Clean cozy house 4 blocks from boardwalk. Plenty of space inside and out for relaxing. Huge deck with BBQ and lots of seating. Big kitchen and washer/dryer. Wonderful airy bedroom upstairs with 3 double beds. The house has 1 bathroom which is downstairs ensuite to a bedroom with a king bed and an entrance off the kitchen. Very nice safe neighborhood 1 block from the bay. We would stay here again.

The property is in a very nice location. The manger for the property answered my messages, but we had maintenance issues that were not solve . Property lost power energy for the top floor on the last night . Bathroom doors won’t close . One of the bedsheets were dirty . The fireplace outside didn’t work . Patio furniture was broken ( seats)

We were in town visiting friends that had a new baby, but we grew up in this area. The location of this rental is fantastic. Walking distance to some of our faves: the coffee shop, Cool Cow Creamery, Dan’s Pizza and the Kemah boardwalk. The layout of the house is nice and we enjoyed plenty of couch space in the living room and the large kitchen for cooking. There was even a crockpot! Our dog enjoyed having green space in the yard and we loved being just a block from some beautiful water views on our morning walks. We would stay here again if we needed someplace in this area.

ALL 3 beds upstairs are so nasty ( toe nail clippings- dirt - blood spots )we had to was them ourselves Told the gentleman on the phone and his reply is thank you I will let house keeping know. I have been renting from VRBO for 20 years and never have left a bad review. With this kind of reply this might be my first. Also I have 3 other things I was not to worried about but I will tell you now 1. No hot water in bathroom sink 2. Bathroom door is falling off its hinges, will not shut. 3. Beds upstairs need all bolts tightened, I could only hand tighten.

This place is super cute and had everything we needed for our weekend stay. Loved the decor and the couch is very comfortable. A few maintenance things needed to be addressed but nothing major. These include: no hand towel hanger in bathroom, light bulbs out, tv remote in living room was not working properly, fire pit did not light. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time! It was our first time in Houston area and this location was perfectly situated close to all the places we went to visit.
Very clean, comfortable, and convenient. The kitchen is fully stocked up with kitchen supplies, extra blankets, and towels.
The Kemah Boardwalk was walking distance, also so close to restaurants, coffee shops and a nearby park.

RENTERS BEWARE...I rented this house through VRBO which is posted and managed through BeachBox. It was a one night rental that was made 2 months prior. The trip was to gather my elderly parents and my brothers family (my brother recently passed away from cancer) together at a comfortable home to ensure my mother with dementia could see her grandchildren. The night before we left to head to Houston, I got a text message at 8PM stating that our house was double booked and not longer available. The text stated 'we are not sure how this happened'. Immediately called the number and was met with the most bizarre conversation. The representative not only didn't have ANY thing to offer as far as a solution, he kept repeating to get my refund in a timely manor, I had to cancel on my end. I explained the delicate situation that this put me and my family in, with the only response to me was that I should go back on the VRBO website to look for another home. When I asked for the help of BeachBox, I was told 'that is not possible, there is nothing they can do'. When I kept inquiring on other solutions, I was then told to get a refund, I would get it 'faster' if I cancelled the reservation myself. When I looked at the reservation, it clearly stated 'no refund on cancellations' and inquired with the representative, he said 'this happens all the time' which was odd since the text message stated, 'we are not sure how this happened'. Come to find out from VRBO, sounded like if I was to cancel, not only would I not get my money back per the agreement but also BeachBox wouldn't have to pay a fee to VRBO for the issue on their end. When I asked to have an email sent to me with the company Letterhead stating why my reservation was canceled, I was told 'we do not have email' to which I asked for him to send through a personal email, he stated 'I will not do that'. Lastly, when he said again its best for me to call VRBO, I said 'ok, let's call right now together' he said 'I will not do that'. All in all, I realize mistakes can happen when companies book on multiple sites, but there was ZERO emphasis on helping me and my family find an alternate solution to the situation THEY put us in. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone, as my belief is they have their listings on multiple places and being a 1-night rental, they bumped me with a longer rental to get more money. We ended up getting our refund BUT HAD ZERO HELP to fix the situation for their mistake.
