The location is great ! Right in the middle of the old town, within walking distance from edinburgh castle. The interior is nice and shower worked well.

The key lock was pretty hard to open. Instructions missed the fact that you had to press 2 buttons simultaneously (one that you don't really see on the left and didn't know was there). We took about 20 mins to figure out. Maybe include a video to show how to open. The bed and pillow were very uncomfortable. The matress need to be changes on both the sofa and bed, and new pillows as the ones we had either were toi flat or had lumps.

The location was good and it was quiet.

As in previous reviews, getting in was a trick-multiple lock boxes at the entrance but #7 not marked (an easy fix with a marker, guys), Also, the 3 flights of stairs to the apartment was never disclosed although other reviewers had mentioned it. But the lack of disclosure in the description was disappointing (full disclosure is important and appreciated). The entrance and stairs were dingy and less than clean and were uninviting. Didn't get the feeling the owners cared about the place very much-run down in need of some attention. The sofa bed mattress was scarry dirty and in need of replacement. The window in the living room would not stay open. The on demand shower was not working and going through the third party Pass the Keys, was clumsy and inefficient. Using precious time out of our first vacation day, we made multiple calls to Booking and Pass the Keys and never got confirmation that it was being addressed or fixed. A little panic set it thinking we would not be able to bathe for the duration of the stay as we never talked to a reassuring voice to tell us it would be fixed or another solution would be offered (always the call centers in Asia or elsewhere on the other side of the world) the back and forth between the 2 entities was really frustrating! Luckily, it was fixed while we were out. A passing observation-on the day we arrived, the apartment smelled like fish. It was coming from the microwave!
