This establishment most certainly deserves a 5-star rating. Exceptional in every way possible. I’m a Google Level 9 Reviewer with a staggering 29 million views, and I pride myself on writing honest reviews. This is the former farm of the legendary Gary Player, and when Greg Morris became the new owner nine years ago, he took it to the next level, transforming it into an exceptional ranch stay. Big Sky Ranch Guesthouse is located on a thoroughbred racehorse stud farm near Colesberg. The guesthouse offers bed-and-breakfast accommodation on this beautiful 135-year-old farm. They can also provide lunch and serve a delicious three-course dinner at an additional cost. From the moment of arrival it's magic. Warm hand cloths and complimentary sherry or champagne. All the rooms have air-conditioning, ceiling fans, Wi-Fi, bathroom amenities, a hairdryer, fridge, and tea/coffee station. The rooms are spacious, with high-grade linen, comfortable beds and luxurious duvets. The bathroom had the most beautiful fittings and luxurious, hotel-grade towels. The owners are extremely welcoming. We genuinely felt like family. Leanne, you are a breath of fresh air. The staff at this guesthouse are exceptionally well trained, and every single person we encountered was friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to Zantile for the smooth check-in and for showing us around, and to Jerone, a true all-rounder at the ranch. The tables at both dinner and breakfast were cleared so quickly and efficiently that it was unbelievable. The food is tasty, hearty and wonderfully home-cooked. There are two stations providing a courtesy bar with wine, water and spirits. In the afternoons, tea and coffee, freshly baked scones and cake are offered free of charge. The lodge is incredibly clean. Visiting the stables and watching the staff bring in the horses in the late afternoon was an absolute highlight. The main house and pool area offer splendid spaces in which to relax.
