The Ram Inn

The Ram Inn looks a bit ramshackle on the booking.com photo and I was not expecting much especially at the price. But they sent me across the road to the rooms at Brandon House. My room was very elegant and clean with a lovely well equipped bathroom...as good as a 5 star hotel.

No soap in the bathroom. I asked for soap at the bar and the girl working at the bar told me the hotel had stopped providing soap in bathrooms. So take your soap and have a lovely stay.

No staff clean and value for money

Nothing I didn’t like but to help for future business there was not enough towels provided and no toiletries like shower gel etc just need little finishing touches like bin toilet brush and shower gel to make the bathroom complete But other than that was a lovely stay and would use again and recommend to others

So... We didn't actually stay at the Ram Inn. We stayed at the huge Brandon House over the road. Which we were secretly glad about as the Ram looked a bit run down. The staff / bar lady was lovely. Really pleasant and went through everything with us. She told us about food places and where to get breakfast. The beds looked brand new and the sheets were clean and it was very comfy. Beautiful slash windows that opened up showing off the grounds outside. We were on the top floor on the back of the hotel and it was pretty quiet throughout the night. The room was a good size, an L shape with a double bed and 3 single beds. The bathroom was a good size but the shower was a bit small, although it was a nice shower that did the job! I would recommend this hotel. It had charm and character and when it's finished, with a lovely garden area, it'll be lovely!

The building looked a bit run down and the outside area was bog standard with no real garden or area to relax in. It was obvious that the building was in the middle of a refurb with some areas still having work done but this didn't affect our stay. The room hadn't been hoovered so there was hair and dust and rubbish around the room. There was hair in the shower and the bathroom blind had tooth paste water sprayed up it plus the windows were covered in cobwebs and the dead flies etc on the windowsill. We were surprised there was no hand soap in the bathroom, but not a big issues. Two TVs in the room, one with no remote so it didn't work and there was a battery missing from the only remote control so we couldn't watch either TV!
