Five Churches View apartments

The main attraction of this property is its location. It is within walking distance to anything you would want to do. The train station is approximately a 10 minute walk and is easy to get to. The apartment has a nice city view with the Church spire in the background. Management was very responsive and communicated quickly if I had a question.

There are two fights of steep stairs, which you should be aware of in the event you are unable to climb stairs. The property is reasonably well equipped however, the furniture is not the most comfortable. It is leather, and you tend to slide off of it. The pillows on the bed were a bit lumpy and we could have used some regular sleep size pillows. It’s also nice to have a few extra pillows in the event you want to prop yourself up in bed to read or if you like to sleep with a pillow between your leg legs. I could very well have asked, however, it was usually late when we got home and I would get busy and forget during the day so part of that is my fault.

We had the Studio and me and my mate had a single bed each, the most comfortable mattress I think I've ever had. Pieter was brilliant and gave us tips, potential discounts and pointed out great non tourist places to eat The studio apartment was bigger than I thought it would be and had everything we needed to cook everyday. And the location is perfect, within a 2 minute walk you have sports shops, restaurants, cinema, take out places and bars. Everything was amazing. 15 minutes from the train station (walking), 20 to Amsterdam Central and things to do everywhere, Haarlem is like Amsterdam in size and shops but so much more peaceful and scenic. Do not hesitate to book here as it's probably been one the best places we have been to. The stairs are steep but good for your health right, so come stay here, you will not be disappointed

Wonderful location close to the centre of Haarlem. Beautifully decorated, with real character. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great furniture for relaxing in front of an open window. Shops are close for provisions, with secure parking for cars and bikes. The host was very welcoming, giving recommendations and a supply of coffee pods(vital fuel 😃). We would definitely come back.

There are some steep stairs to the top apartment, which was not an issue at all for us, but some may need to know this. The host did offer assistance with bags, but not needed.

Close to restaurants, bars, shops and the station. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Kitchenette available to cook (though we didn’t). Friendly and helpful communication prior to stay.

Every time a large vehicle passes the property the floor of the apartment and windows shake. This is frequent and I am very surprised this is not commented on in more reviews! Our room was at the front of the building and as it’s on a main road I expected noise from the street. Earplugs helped with that noise but not with the shaking and as a result I slept terribly. Not a place for light sleepers!
