Asuka was a great haven to return to at the end of days sightseeing in Kyoto. It was very comfortable and well set out. Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay here. Would definitely recommend it.
We read the reviews about the light on the stairs. It’s still there but really didn’t bother us. Otherwise, nothing we didn’t like.

Great location, quiet neighborhood, expensive but reasonable when shopping other options. Couch could use updating and another chair in the living space would be handy. The “safety” light over the stairs required us to wear an eye mask to fall asleep, even with a curtain on the door, such a strange set up that you can’t turn the light off or maybe replace that with a solid door. Overall, very pleased!

location is great, many within walkable distances! We love that the house is clean and fully functional. Many reviews about the light at the stairs but it didn't bother us much. great size home for a family of 5. Air conditioning is strong enough to keep us warm.
we stayed there for 5 nights but there were no extra towels. The tea and coffee provided were a little stingy. they do not have universal adapters so strongly recommend to bring one yourself.
