Tivemos uma estadia maravilhosa na Casa do Palheiro, com a Maria José como anfitriã. Desde o primeiro momento, ela e a sua filha Catarina foram extremamente atenciosas e acolhedoras, partilhando informações valiosas que foram muito além das nossas expectativas, desde a cascata
, passando por restaurantes locais, até o talho onde se encontra a incomparável carne barrosa da região, além de dicas sobre o mercado e outros pontos práticos.
A aldeia em si é um encanto: vizinhos muito gentis, o ambiente autêntico da vida rural, com rebanhos de vacas a passar pela rua, o silêncio reconfortante e uma vista magnífica para a serra. Foi uma experiência genuína e única, que nos fez sentir verdadeiramente integrados.
Recomendamos vivamente a Casa do Palheiro e a hospitalidade da Maria José, da Catarina e até mesmo dos simpáticos vizinhos. Sem dúvida, queremos regressar!

De omgeving is echt fantastisch. Vooral wanneer je naar de rivier loopt en een plekje zoekt waar watervallen zijn. Eigenlijk net zo mooi als de bekende watervallen van het nationale park maar dan zonder toeristen! Huisje is van vrijwel alle gemakken voorzien en schoon. Aardige en betrokken gastvrouw
Het huisje ligt vrij afgelegen aan een boerenweggetje. Parkeren is niet altijd makkelijk. Ook de WiFi is niet zo goed

To be honest we were a little disappointed with our stay in Casa do Palheiro. There were a few facilities listed that were not available on our arrival.
Although the upstairs had some form of heating available. The downstairs area remained cold throughout our stay. I asked the host vis WhatsApp about the wood stove and some logs to heat the place up and was informed that they don’t use the stove at this time of the year! Therefore, the downstairs area remind cold throughout our stay.
Not all the facilities listed were actually available to us and the lack of heating downstairs made life uncomfortable.
