Robin’s Nest is an entire cabin located within Alpine Lake Resort in Terra Alta, West Virginia. Designed for couples, families, or small groups, the cabin comfortably accommodates up to six guests and offers a relaxed home base for winter escapes, shoulder-season getaways, and everything in between.

Sleeping arrangements

The cabin features two bedrooms plus a loft sleeping area. The loft includes a queen bed and a full bathroom, creating a quiet space set slightly apart. On the main level, one bedroom offers a queen bed and a twin bed, while the second bedroom includes a twin bed. A second full bathroom is also available on the main level.

Indoor living

Inside, the cabin feels functional, with heating throughout and portable air conditioning available when needed. The living area includes a TV and WiFi, suitable for streaming movies or handling video calls. A dedicated workspace in a room with a door makes it easy to focus if you’re mixing work with your stay.

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen provides space to cook your own meals and settle in after a day outdoors. Whether you’re preparing breakfast before a walk to the lake or dinner after exploring the area, the kitchen setup supports comfortable, extended stays. Bathroom essentials and bed linens are provided, along with extra pillows and blankets for cooler nights.

Outdoor living

Step outside to a private patio and backyard surrounded by wooded land. While winter may keep outdoor time brief, the deck, & BBQ grill offer options for crisp-air evenings when weather allows. The backyard is open and not fully fenced, and there is a private entrance and free parking on the premises.

Resort amenities and location

The cabin is part of Alpine Lake Resort, where guests have access to shared amenities including an indoor pool open year-round, a fitness center, and courts for tennis, basketball, and pickleball. A path leads to lake access, and the private beach area is available when conditions permit. Hiking trails weave through the community, and cross-country skiing is available in winter. An 18-hole golf course is also located within the resort, with tee times available separately.

Nearby adventures

Deep Creek Lake and Wisp Ski Resort are about 40 minutes away, making day trips for skiing or winter sightseeing easy to plan. The surrounding region offers a mix of quiet forest roads and seasonal activities that shift naturally with the weather.

Good to know

The cabin is pet-friendly, though cats are not allowed. WiFi is provided, but due to the remote setting, service may be slower or spotty at times. Decks and walkways are cleaned before arrival, though seasonal debris may still be present given the natural environment.

This peaceful cabin offers a grounded, comfortable place to experience Alpine Lake, with space to relax indoors and access to year-round resort amenities just beyond the door.

Note

Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!

Pet Policy

We’re happy to welcome dogs to join you on your getaway! Please note that due to allergies, we’re unable to accommodate cats. A $29 pet fee applies per furry friend, per night to help cover additional cleaning and care. Thanks for understanding—we look forward to hosting you and your pup!

Longer Stays

For stays of 14 nights or longer, guests will be asked to e-sign a rental agreement prior to arrival. This agreement helps us comply with local requirements while protecting the property, and will be sent in advance for review.

Wi-Fi is provided, but due to the remote setting, service can sometimes be slower or spotty. We suggest downloading any essential content in advance.

Extremely welcoming host, and we even worked out staying an additional night because we were having such a great time. I’ve stayed at Alpine Lake at several different properties, and this was the first one that provided keys to be able to use the indoor pool. It was the perfect space for our family of 3 and 2 dogs.

Property owner was awesome and very responsive. Check in was easy. Amenities because it was off season were not available. Cabin was well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. Clean - however missing toilet paper - and getting anywhere off site takes more than a minute! Outside the house needs work.other than fire pit no place to sit outdoors . It was great and the price was right.

This cabin was the perfect escape! It struck the ideal balance between comfort and nature- exactly what you'd want fora relaxing stay at Alpine Lake. The home was incredibly well-stocked with everything from towels and dishes to cleaning supplies, spices, and extra linens. It made settling in so easy. The fire pit was a favorite of mine-perfect for unwinding under the stars, which you can actually see clearly at night! The setting is quiet and serene, offering true peace and privacy. If you're planning a trip, I highly recommend bringing groceries and taking advantage of the kitchen. There aren't many great dining options nearby, but the cabin has everything you need to cook and enjoy meals comfortably. I only wish had visited a little later in the season to see the trees and flowers in full bloom-but even without that, the stay was amazing. If you're looking for a peaceful mountain getaway with all the essentials and thoughtful touches, this is the place for you. I will absolutely be back!

This was a cute cabin and has access to nice amenities, but it was overpriced. It is falsely advertised as having 2 queens and 2 doubles, but it actually has 2 queens and 2 twins. The rooms are not separated/insulated well, so it's essentially a 1-room cabin (where you can hear everything that's happening elsewhere in the cabin). And the AC unit downstairs runs constantly, so it's hard to hear the TV or hear to talk to others in the livingroom. It's still a nice/cute cabin, but good to know what to expect before a trip.
