sea view house with Etna behind

Das Haus ist wunderbar, nur ein paar Minuten zum Strand, ein traumhafter, riesiger Garten, kompletter Meerblick, geschmackvoll, sauber, tolle Gastgeber. Vorne das Meer, hinten der Etna...letzteres war allerdings etwas wild in diesem Sommer, aber wir verbuchen das als Supererlebnis. Wir wurden von Andrea gut eingeführt, waren beim Fischmarkt und bei anderen der Tipps. Alles ist gut ausgestattet. Die Küche und alle anderen Zimmer sehr großzügig. Zehn Minuten zum Supermarkt, wo man alles kriegt, im Ort nebenan ein paar kleinere Läden. Nur zu beachten: Ohne Auto ist man verloren (fussläufig gibt es "nur" Strand und Strandkiosk), aber dafür ist man wirklich mal weg...(und der Mülltransport nervt etwas, aber das ist wohl ein lokales Problem). Man ist überall schnell vor Ort, in Taormina, Zyklopenküste, Catania, wir haben noch nicht zu Ende geschaut und kommen gerne wieder! Danke, Familie Normanno!

The house over the beach of Praiola is a traditional refurbished stone house on 2 floors. Typical italian kitchen, spacious with lovely shady terraces with a spectacular view on mount Etna. Surrounded by mediterranean flora i enjoyed my early morning espresso there on the west side. The east side of the house offers a stony terrace right over the sea and view to Taormina to the north. Upstairs is the imperial sized bedroom under the roof, with own terrace overlooking the Ionian sea and Calabria far away in the mist. The owners, a typical sicilian family, take care of the huge property with citrus fruites, olives, mandarine trees and much more. And even on Sundays or on schools end it was always a quiet place. Perfect for getting restored by gentle blowing winds and lovely swims in the mediterranean. You will need a car but shopping infrastructure, restaurants and cultural sites are all in 30 minutes distance. The tiny street from the main street is not easy to find even you use a navigation system. I should write how horrible the place is just to prevent people to avoid this place and nobody else should come but i don’t want to be selfish and visiting guests are the guarantee to maintain the house and the whole property. Praiola is tiny, only a few houses on the beach but no restaurants, bars or shops to attract people to come. Praiola and specifically this house is therefore a perfect retreat. We recommend this house to people looking for a hideaway, in the middle of a mediterranean garden with Etna on your back and the ionian sea on your front. Andrea and his family are happy to be hosts and they trust in you and would fulfill all of your desires. They are ideal hosts! I will definitely come back and hope i can stay for a couple of weeks one day!
