Che dire, è stata una vacanza fantastica da Kimya. Alberto, il proprietario, non solo è una persona fantastica, ma ci ha fatto sentire come se fossimo a casa nostra. Oltre ad essere una persona simpaticissima e aperta, è un importante punto di riferimento per muoversi a Watamu (non è semplice il primo impatto): ci ha aiutato fornendoci consigli su mezzi, ristoranti, spiagge, massaggi e tanto altro. Inoltre vorrei ringraziarlo personalmente per la pazienza che ha avuto aiutando la mia compagna dopo un infortunio al ginocchio avvenuto durante il soggiorno. Ci ha portato con la sua macchina prima in ospedale e poi in una clinica di sua conoscenza oltre a regalarle un tutore di sua proprietà. Veramente grazie. Per quanto riguarda il soggiorno: - villa: stupenda, abbiamo alloggiato nel bungalow nel giardino, bellissimo e privacy garantita. Riassetto stanza praticamente tutti i giorni. Giardino tropicale bellissimo e piscina stupenda. - posizione: ottima per girare Watamu che comunque richiede quasi sempre lo spostamento in boda boda o tuktuk. Forse di notte il tratto dalla villa alla strada principale non è il massimo (molto buio ma sicuro). Noi comunque l'abbiamo fatto a piedi più volte senza problemi. - luoghi comuni: ambientazione bellissima in stile africano su due piani. - pasti/colazione: tavolo al piano terra enorme, di fronte la piscina. Ogni mattina a colazione ti senti a casa. C'è la possibilità di pranzare o cenare in villa ad un prezzo ridicolo. Gli chef sono molto bravi. Forse come unico appunto, visto che siamo stati 9 notti, avremmo preferito una maggiore varietà nella colazione, ma comunque è molto buona e con prodotti freschi. - staff: tutti super gentili e disponibili. Ad ogni minima richiesta verrete esauditi. Grazie mille Mariam, Robert, lo chef, il mitico Alfred ed il motociclista...anche Veronica, la massaggiatrice che viene da fuori TOP (prezzo ridicolo per Watamu). Grande zio Alberto, sicuramente ci rivedremo prima o poi...

We had a very nice stay at Kimya House. We initially stayed in the self contained apartment away from the main house. Very private and relaxing. Alberto was a wonderful host, welcoming and helpful. Local staff were super nice too. Pleasant surroundings, nice pool. A substantial breakfast. You could also request an evening meal. On one occasion Alberto organised a dinner for all the guests at a restaurant. Good location not far from the beach.

One night it rained and the water started coming through the thatched roof in various places, soaking the floor. They worked to try and resolve the issue but eventually it was decided that we'd move to a room in the main building. This room was fine but nowhere near as nice as where we had been, it was located right next to the kitchen. There were a lot of flies buzzing around and a lot of energy was spent swatting them away from your food at breakfast time. But this was not a problem exclusive to Kimya House. It was the same story when eating at the beach. Alberto was Italian and consequently almost every single other guest was Italian. Nothing against them but the majority spoke little or no English so we couldn't really talk to or socialise with them. I'm not a big fan of such homogeneous environments where everyone is from the same place. I wouldn't want everyone to be from the same place as me either.

The genuine welcoming vibe from the staff and host without being intrusive was wonderfully refreshing. The space is beautiful, clean and authentic with attention to detail. The location is peaceful, convenient, away from any hassle and it feels safe. We stayed in the queen suite which gave us extra privacy which was lovely. Breakfast was fresh and accommodating, as we are vegan. Great recommendations and help from Alberto. The place allows access to the kitchen and facilities and there is always help on hand. The pool is the cherry on top and always super clean. Thanks for having us! We hope to see you again.
