Beachfront 2 Bed at Popular Seawinds

The property was located in a nice area. There’s still a lot of damage to the property and a lot of construction going on which made it difficult. They refused to allow more than one car per unit. It was obvious that there’s much nicer properties close by..

Not to track from the property, but the unit I stayed in had a management company that was absolutely horrible. I was instructed to go to the office to pick up the keys from the management company and they were closed when I arrived even though it was during hours. They would not answer their phones and when I texted, they told me the office was open to get my keys from the office, even though the office was not open. I wasted a half an hour waiting to get my keys until finally someone said check the lockbox to see if they were put in there where they put the after hours Keys. When I called the management company again and got someone on the phone. He was very rude and refused to identify himself. It’s a tossup whether I would ever use this property again, but definitely would make sure I went to a unit that was not managed by this management company that I went through as I will avoid them at all cost.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sea Winds, the unit is located high on the building offering a great view of the ocean. Located at the southern end of Marco Island it makes for a reasonably quite stay with less congested beaches. Harbor View Real Estate that handled the rental called me in advance of my stay which was nice and also handled a work order very efficiently.

I actually would only have 2 complaints if the advertising and descriptions in the advertisement for the condo were correct, my complaint regarding Sea Winds would be regarding the elevator service. It does not seem to function correctly and at times you have to take the stairs. Regarding the unit, Marco Island has a strict lighting policy regarding light escaping your space since this effects the sea turtles laying their eggs. The unit itself has white curtains, you can only block so much light with white curtains, I would think that blackout curtains would be in order since it's mandatory to black out your unit at 9 pm. My complaint about the advertising is as follows. The description says free parking in at least 2-3 locations. Parking is not free it is $30 per car, per stay with a max. of 2 cars. I contacted Harbor View Rentals and I was told that this was a resort fee, which after talking to the front desk at Sea Winds they said that it is not a resort fee it is a parking fee and that parking is not free. This is minor in the grand scheme of things but it still left me with a negative feeling regarding my stay. Also the staff said that there was no BBQ area onsite as advertised, so I am not sure who handles the advertising but I guess they need to look at what they are selling. Lastly even thought this was a positive item it is not advertised correctly. The unit is supposed to be 2 bed room one bath. It actually has for lack of better terms a double Jack and Jill bath room, the unit has 2 separate rooms that have a sink and commode and they share a center attached shower. Which is actually a nice set up, if advertised correctly I think a lot of people would like this feature.
