I have stayed here several times in several of the different apartments available, always clean and warm and comfortable. Self check in is super easy and there is street parking right outside, everyone I have stayed I have managed to park right outside of the main entrance. Great host with clear communication
If you have mobility issues you will need the ground floor as no lift is available.

Property is insanely big. Great value for money, quiet location, and easy access to the city centre!
Nothing! It was great!

What did I like, hmm, difficult question! The staff are very good at dealing with clients who are irate at the mistakes that Avo Apartments have caused! This shows the 1 bit of good training they have received, and trust me, this is the ONLY bit of good training they have had.
I could write a book on this!
I don't ask or expect much from either a hotel or a self catering place apart from a clean room and a good bed, that's it. Everything else I can live with or can negotiate with the management, usually very satisfactorily. I have made few complaints in my 1000's of my stays around the world.
First, it took ages to get into the apartment. A minor detail, we got in.
I went to use the bathroom, raised the toilet seat and there was excrement under the lid and around the hinges. We complained, they asked for pictures so they could talk to the cleaning staff. No offer to come and sort it out! Any hotel or normal establishment would have been mortified and sent people round immediately. There were ZERO cleaning materials in the apartment to clean up! Next we found that the tap in the bathroom was covered in a thick white mould, we didn't feel safe using this tap to even brush our teeth. At this point I will say that my wife has been undergoing chemo and radiotherapy for a year and is about to have major surgery for a rare cancer. Her white count is incredibly low so can't fight infections. We contacted Avo Apartments again, they said send pictures. Again no offer of staff to clean. Now to the bedroom. My wife asked me to switch on the bedside light. We couldn't find a switch. I leaned over the bed and found where it was plugged in and that was switched on. I tried to trace the power line back to the socket and found the switch. Now this is a classic! In order to reach the switch you had to move the bed! The cable wasn't long enough from the switch to the socket!
In the meantime, as we moved the bed, we found a pile of dust and empty bottles as well! Then there was the mattress. Memory foam but demented or no memory! We got in, it collapsed in the middle. My wife and I just kept rolling into each other to the point where my wife made a bed on the ropey sofa. I tried sleeping across it but it was impossible. No sleep.

As promised, the Wi-Fi was good and the parking was close by and free.
The value was poor. I expect a great deal more than a very tired damp smelling apartment for that kind of money. This was NOT the apartment in the photographs, it was very tired, unloved, and in a desperately poor location.
Noticing the absence of any toilet paper at 9:10 at night didn’t help either.
There is no cooks knife nor chopping board in the kitchen. The wardrobe doors are exceptionally hard to slide open.
The area is industrial, rough, and there is a long walk to anything useful to an overnight visitor.
There seems to be staff able to contact you on the phone at inconvenient times, one calling me at after 11pm when I had said I was retiring for the night 45 minutes earlier and so waking me up, another calling to apologise while I am at work - contacting is good but consider timing!
If you want to improve first impressions consider cleaning the entrance doorway meor frequently, putting batteries in the clocks that are hanging up in the bedroom in the sitting room which just sit sadly still for the whole time, making sure the light in the bathroom mirror works . At half the price it would’ve been good value at 2/3 of the price I might not have complained at this price. I am very annoyed I didn’t go somewhere better.

The location was close to where we wanted to be. Comfortable, a few small issues but nothing I’d want to complain about. Overall happy
Not enough towels, we asked and they provided more. No bedding for the sofa bed, there was a pillow and duvet but no covering on them. The duvet was stained but it was boiling hot and I had a blanket in my car so used that. I was sticking to the sofa bed due to no covering but it was hot so nothing could be done about that. Lastly the bathroom was loud when you put the light on due to the vents. Again nothing I’d want to complain about. It was a reasonably comfortable stay

The flat was spacious and clean. I liked the high ceilings and vintage decor, especially in the living space. The kitchen was well equipped, and the walk-in shower was pristine.
The bed was a bit too low to the floor could be a bit more comfortable.

The key safe was easy to use
The bed was a little low down, not the best for someone who can’t bend down

Really nice old building.
Oozing with character.
The living area had the feel of a stately home.
High end bathroom.
Massive bedroom and high ceiling.
The location is pretty terrible.
Stuck between two manufacturing plants.
The view out of the bedroom window was stacks of chemicals tubs and forklifts and clear signs of the buildings decay.
Walking back late evening was a concern.
With an Albanian brothel only 100 yards away.

Big apartment in an industrial area, but there are parks nearby too. The host was great, gave us plenty of tips about Sheffield. Great value for money!

Check in was easy and stress free!
Parking was a bit busy, but we managed to find a space a little further away from the apartment, but it was no problem!

I've been coming to Sheffield for business for two and half years, staying in hotels and apartments, this is by far the most comfortable I've had. I stayed in apartment 7, so I can't comment on the others. I'll definitely stay again if theirs availability during my next visit.

It was very tastefully decorated and furnished apartment, from cushions and upholstery to fixtures and fittings and had lots of unique character, so much more imaginative than your average rental apartment
Although the location was quite close to town, it is in quite an industrial area- although in my opinion the quality of the apartment and the price reflects this more than fairly

The apartment came as such a suprise, we did not expect that from the area, the size and decor everything was a shock after pulling up to the building. It was a hidden gem

Amazing place. Great value for money location very good for city centre . Bed and pillows very comfy.
A lot of hair in the shower however it wasn't a big issue as I was really please with the stay

Affordable. Water was hot. Bed was comfortable and clean. Apartment clean in general. Kitchen facilities adequate, we fried some bacon and eggs. Made tea.
Host unresponsive.
Heater in the bedroom didn't work, only the one in the living room. It wasn't a big issue though as we kept the door between bedroom and living room open.
We were two friends and one of us slept on the sofa so we asked for extra bedding. We were provided one, but only on the second day. Host didn't respond to message or phone call on the first night.
Building was noisy. We could hear loud footsteps in the night. Someone was moving heavy furniture at 8am on a Saturday.
Milk in the fridge expired.
Shampoo and shower gel dispenser empty.
The 10 minute walk from the nearest bus station (to city centre) was a bit scary at night. Partially lit streets, abandoned and dilapidated buildings.
The semi-basement apartment itself looked a bit shabbier than on the photos, not bright and sunny at all. Small windows.

Located in an industrial area - which was ok for us as we went to attend other events. Not noisy at night which was a big positive for us.
WiFi was unsteady. Could have better signal.

Everything was fine

The apartment was spacious and clean, quite modern, the kitchen area was great.
Very noisy with slamming doors to the entrance and other apartments overnight, bedroom door seriously needs oiling (it woke everybody up when opened overnight), no sofa bed, spare sheets or pillows, so not really appropriate for a family. Some poor design decisions (lamps being hit by kitchen cupboard doors), no wifi, tv didn’t work that well and was obscured by the entrance landing area, front room only had office-style blinds so wasn’t really able to block light out.
