About this house rental

Enjoy beautiful Burnsall and the wonders of the Wharfe Valley from your base at the charming and comfortable Village Barn. Retaining much of the character and charm of its original 18th century construction, Village Barn comfortably accommodates up to 8 people with 2 double and 2 twin bedrooms and two large bathrooms on the 1st floor, all centrally heated. The ground floor has a spacious and comfortable lounge equipped with a log burner and a large, 8-seater dining room, also with a log burner. The younger set have their own TV/games room equipped with a Play Station 4 and a selection of games or use this space to watch a DVD or read a book in splendid isolation! The Barn has a well-appointed kitchen with a large induction hob and double ovens, perfect for cooking a large meal for friends and family. A Nespresso Virtuo coffee maker is provided for coffee lovers with pods available against a small donation to Mountain Rescue. A separate utility room accommodates a fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble drier. Outside you will find a sunny barbeque area with outdoor seating. The Barn offers views over the village green and the River Wharfe to the fells beyond.

All within a short walk of the Village Barn is a wonderful pub, a gourmet café and a delectable ice cream kiosk. Across the iconic 5-arch stone bridge is an attractive green, perfect for a picnic and along the River Wharfe you will find a fantastic pebbly beach with shallow access to the river.

Situated on the banks of the River Wharfe, Burnsall is a delightful Dales village with a rich history and because of its picture postcard beauty, Burnsall attracts many couples looking for the perfect setting for their wedding and is also a dream holiday destination for families and a mecca for walkers, cyclists and anglers.

The house is one of the best appointed holiday homes we’ve stayed in with everything you need in the kitchen to make large family meals, lots of books and games and plenty of communal space to spread out in. This amazing cottage was the perfect place to stay for a short break in the Dales which included our son's wedding in the nearby Barden Priory. The cottage was very spacious with 4 bedrooms, one with an en-suite and a shower rom upstairs. Beds were extremely comfortable with quality cotton bedding used.Downstairs was absolutely amazing. Spacious lounge with leather seating,a huge dining room that apparently used to be a shop, a games room, utility room and the most incredible kitchen......and that cooker.. Just wow.The location was perfect. Next door to The Red Lion pub . Some scenes from the 2003 film Calender Girls were filmed at the Red Lion pub.Everything about the cottage, the location and the beautiful village of Burnsall contributed to a most magical time for our son's wedding.

Four ex uni friends on a 3 day walking holiday. This was a perfect location for us and having the excellent Red Lion next door was an added bonus!The property is lovely - excellent rooms and all the facilities you could possibly need. Our host was helpful and attentive. Would highly recommend with no reservations at all.

A beautifully restored barn in a gorgeous village, which has wonderful opportunities for walks from the door. A very classy property which we absolutely loved. The village has excellent cafés, pub and ice cream shop but it’s tiny and beautiful. The surrounding areas are absolutely stunning. This barn had ample room for seven of us and all the things that we needed absolutely adored it.

Our group of four retired ladies enjoyed our stay very much. The property was clean and very comfortable. It has been beautifully renovated and would be perfect for a family. The only negative was the lack of a bathroom on the ground floor. For us, that was an inconvenience which wouldn’t bother younger travelers.

We (6 adults and 2 teenagers - 3 generations) spent an amazing, long Easter weekend in the Village Barn. It was very well equipped, clean, full of charm and character. We managed to park 2 largish cars on the driveway. Great location, right in the heart of Burnsall, next to the Red Lion, where we had Sunday roast- highly recommended.We did a walk from to barn to Grassington and some beautiful walks from a short drive away. Pam is an excellent host with great communication. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would love to return one day.

This beautiful cottage has been renovated with superb taste and high quality appliances and it is well equipped for every need. The location is great and we so enjoyed the little village and picturesque walks along the river. The pub next door was a great hit as was the ice cream shop! The owner was very responsive to our questions and quick to reply. We would love to return one day!

We loved our stay at the barn in Burnsall. The location is great and the barn is comfortable and well equipped with lovely beds and bedding and plenty of utensils in the kitchen for making a proper meal. Very much recommend for a gathering with family or friends.

We love coming here and keep coming back as it is so perfect. The barn is ideal for two families with children to stay in, plenty of sofa space and a separate children’s play room. There are a number of walks direct from the cottage and the pub next door is wonderful!

Beautiful cottage immaculate on arrival in a perfect location 4 large bedrooms with loads of room for clothes etc. All amenities offered are in an excellent condition extra plates utensils etc are provided by the host perfect for walkers within 50 metres of the local village pub with excellent food options and a great beer garden with ample seating for everyone The village itself is great to chill out on by the river with again loads of space to have a picnic or just chill out Enough car parking space for two average cars outside is great for a bbq just big enough to seat 6 adults but if 8 staying would be a push I will definitely rebook this beautiful cottage in the near future

A wonderful cottage. We really enjoyed our stay in Burnsall. We stayed for a family wedding and there was plenty of space for 3 generations. The children's room/games room is a lovely touch. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The location is fantastic in the middle of Burnsall (next to the Red Lion pub). A beautiful spot for walking and visiting nearby Bolton Abbey and other nearby attractions. We can highly recommend and would love to visit again.

Fabulous property right by the village centre with easy access to excellent walking right from the doorstep. The barn is lovely with all mod cons and facilities. There’s ample space to sit and chill both inside and out. The pub is next door and river walks within 2 minutes. Our group of friends loved it.

This was a fabulous property to stay in the delightful village of Burnsall which is located in beautiful Wharfedale. The barn conversion had ample space and it has all been decorated to a high standard. It was perfect for 4 ladies on holiday together but would comfortably accommodate the 8 people it is designed for. We were minutes from the local pub and the scenic River Wharfe with lots of walking opportunities from the doorstep. Pam also accommodated a last minute request from us which we were very grateful for. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there myself again in a heartbeat.

The property completely exceeded expectations. The situation was perfect with a view to Burnsall bridge/river. 7 family members 18-75 stayed for a wedding spread over 2 days at Barden tower. We also squeezed in some lovely walks one from the property & one to Bolton abbey. The barn was immaculate, warm & cosy we had 2 members who had to travel late on a rainy cool evening who arrived to a log fire, a hot meal & a dreamy bedroom! Thank you Pam for the logs. After a very late party on 3rd night we came back to relax with log fire & talked in total comfort for hours! The barn is everything you could ask for & one member is booking to come with friends very soon. Nothing else I can say but perfect & thank you Pam for the care you have put into other people’s holidays. Jill B

We had 8 people. 2 parents, 5 adult children and one granny. We all just about fitted in and the three downstairs rooms allowed us to space out. Very clean, warm and so well equipped. Weather not so great but can walk from the front door. Would come back.

Suited our needs perfectly. We travelled with a toddler in tow, so having the highchair and logfire safety gate was appreciated. I think the location is understated on this listing- you are mere seconds from the pub and just a minute from the cafe- both of which are great- and with a beautiful backdrop perfe t for walks. We didn't realize just how special to location was until we arrived! Pam was great with pre communication and we were very happy with the house.

Our third time staying at the Village Barn in Burnsall and it was as charming and cosy as ever. Even better were the home improvement of new carpets new bathroom and repainted walls. The Village Barn is lovely and clean and well equipped, and a perfect location for glorious walks. Thank you we’ll be back again!!
