Celebi Garden Hotel - Cittaslow Retreat

The hotel is a very well run family business. The location is set in the mountains in a pretty village. The scenery around the hotel is picturesque. The rooms are very clean, have all necessary amenities and the beds are very comfortable. The food is varied, using local products and tastes delicious. The Manager Buse and her team were so friendly and welcoming. We have stayed at the hotel a number of times and our experience has always been exceptional. One of the staff members, Elizabeth went over and above, very friendly and kind and always greeted us with a smile.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike.

Extremely peaceful place in a lovely location with views across a picturesque valley to the sea. Food was fresh and delicious and very kind and welcoming owners and staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at this great value, family run hotel. Clean and spacious rooms, with a powerful shower. Lovely terrace to sit out and enjoy the view to the sea. We enjoyed the pool area and bar and the evening meal was super tasty and well presented. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices, with lots of jams and spreads clearly made on the premises. Staff were friendly and attentive. A little oasis - a perfect base for exploring other parts of the Karpas. We will definitely book again.

Only a very small observation - we had a kettle in our room but no cups. Staff were happy to provide when we asked at the bar.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was very good and plenty especially at breakfast. Evening meal was very nice too, especially the chicken casserole and the lamb casserole. An ideal location to relax in, with nothing else around. We were offered a kettle for tea / coffee in the room.

Although the breakfast was plentiful, it was not our idea of breakfast. No cereal available but a choice of egg, boiled, fried or omelette was available. A lot of jams, more like fruit in syrup. Salad cheese etc. the same every day , very repetitive The room and house keeping left a lot to be desired. We only stayed three night and l found the cleaner for clean towels, apparently rooms are done every other day. Even though meals were good it was a fight with the cats who actually got to eat the meal. The one cat clawed the seats and my clothes/leg for attention, it climbed on the chair next to me several times and l kept shooing him off. Then he jumped up into the table. It was not an enjoyable experience and we didn't encourage him. This was both inside and outside. The last morning while eating breakfast outside the dog decided to pooh on the lawn, not very nice. The room itself was not very clean and the bathroom shower cubicle had black mould in it. A good clean may have helped but it really needed replacing. Also mould under the edges of the sink. It was a shame it could have been a pleasant experience.
