Treescapes - Rainforest Hot Tub 2km from Punakaiki

I stayed here with my one and four-year-old children and it was perfect for us. The forest setting with the sea views, fireplace and spa pool made it for a very special stay. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and a variety of heating options were available including a heat pump and electric blankets in addition to the fireplace. A wonderful place to stay and we would be happy to return here.

The perfect little spot to catch up and unwind with old friends on a rainy night. We loved the cosy living space and log burning fire. Would love to visit in summer time so we could enjoy the deck and hot tub.

Beautiful sea views, private, clean, great water pressure in shower, outdoor spa was amazing for sore muscles after completing the Paparoa Track.

The property is located in a very charming forest area, not far from the beach with a fantastic sunset view (weather permitting). The hot tub experience would have been perfect if we did not have to fight the sand flies. We were lacking coffee as to use the Nespresso machine, and after reporting it to the hosts located a few km away, they delivered promptly a substitute. The wifi and Netflix access came as a real plus as due to a very unpleasant weather, we spent our new year day watching The Lords of the Rings for more than 6 hours ;-)

The reviews of other guests were mixed, and while we did not suffer from noise of the nearby street, we suffered from insects despite keeping doors and windows closed (with no way to kill those already in!). Cleanliness of the property was not up to our expectations (and came even more as a real contrast to all other rentals we have made during our 3 weeks trip). I would also recommend the hosts to make some larger pots and pans available as for a 3 day stay we cooked 2 or 3 times and had to juggle withe recipes fitting with equipment at disposal.
