Good Stay, But Needs Maintenance and Attention to DetailWe had a good 3-night stay overall for the price. The house is nice, big, well-equipped, and features great amenities like functional kayaks, an outdoor fireplace, a basement with a pool table, and a grill (needs starter maintenance).However, the stay was marred by several issues: * Privacy/Security Concern: The main bedroom door would not lock from the inside due to a broken clip and had a half-inch gap, significantly compromising privacy. This felt like a critical, non-negotiable issue. * Safety/Lighting: Driveway lights were not on after sunset, making the area dark. Given the presence of snakes nearby, good lighting is essential for safety when navigating outside at night. * Maintenance: While the host was quick to resolve a broken flush and shower issue, the grill starter needs fixing. * Pest Issues: We saw numerous large spiders on the house's exterior and a few inside, especially in the bath. The host should consider professional pest control.In summary, it's a nice property, but it requires more minor maintenance and attention to critical details (like the bedroom lock and outdoor lighting) to enhance the guest experience and earn a higher rating.

We got there at around 5 pm check in time and they were cutting trees on the property till 630pm. The water was so hot you couldn’t cool off. You only have 3 garbage cans to fill for the week and we had 11 people they want you to take the extra to the dump your self. No paddle boat. They said it was on back order but we found one 10 miles down the road to purchase. Landscaping crew was weed whacking at 8 am right by my bedroom window! Had to buy our own toilet paper cause they only left 2 extra rolls and also garbage bags. Be prepared to make your own bed. They said due to Covid but they didn’t wash the comforter! We payed a lot of money to stay here and doing work the cleaning crew should be doing! Never again!!! Vrbo should give you the rules of the house before you pay not 3 days before or we wouldn’t have rented this house.

This home is perfect for a large group including children. We had four couples all of which had their own bedroom and bathroom and three young school age boys. The boys had two bedrooms and a bath in the basement level along with foosball, pool table and private tv area. They loved it. The dock/boat house was nice with kayaks and blowup water toys(bring a pump) The lake water was very warm

Thanks so much for a wonderful (but too short) Christmas vacation! 9 of us (5 adults, 4 children) had an incredible amount of room in an absolutely spotless home, with almost everything you could ask for in kitchen and home supplies (plentiful dishes, pots and pans, spices, toilet paper, paper towels, bath towels, soaps). My son and his family of 5 also joined us to open presents. The electric fireplaces were amazing, the couches of high quality and extremely comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed watching movies and playing pool in the basement family room, as well listening to music on the living room TV. My 10-year old grandson even ran several times into the (cold) lake and my son took the boys out kayaking in deep December. The small Christmas tree in the living room also added to the Christmas cheer. Small suggestions: - right-hand windows in the living room and dining room were slightly open at the top (with effort, two of us were able to close the dining room window, but not the living room one); -no pot holders for oven dishes or as protection for the gorgeous dining room table (we used dish towels);- marble floors in the bathrooms were chilly, as was the lower level after the fireplace was turned off (no heat system);- directions for turning on the master bedroom fireplace would be helpful;- pillows were pretty flat, could use new ones, and dark brown sheets?;- perhaps a tablecloth for the round table and a new bunk bed set.Hope to come back in summer!

If I could give 10 stars, I would! We took our family of 12 (10 adults, 1 teen, 1 two year old) and our lab. Everything was perfect! The house was clean and was stocked with everything needed! Plenty of towels, toilet paper, appliances, dishes, propane, kayaks, and so much more. We started and ended each day on the dock! The house sits in a quiet finger of the lake. The sunrise is incredible and we were able to sit and watch or paddle out on the kayaks. We were lucky to spot a bald eagle a few times! The slide was fun for all! We were also located close to Food Lion and Dollar General, along with some fun places to enjoy dinner! The bedrooms each had their own bathroom, except for the two bunkbed rooms who shared one. We enjoyed the firepit, pool table and foosball. We even brought a blow up out door theater and set it up under the back porch. We just had so much fun here! The hosts were very responsive to all questions and even allowed us an hour early check in! There was a pass for the pool and we had a fun day there as well! If I had to find something to suggest, the beach area could have used some weeding, but we really didn't care. Lounging on the dock was more fun. We highly recommend this, especially for a large group of family or friends who love spending time together. We definitely made some memories!

This was our second time renting this house for our family vacation. Overall, the house is plenty large enough to accommodate all 16 of us. It is in a quiet private community very relaxing yet fun time the only downside to our vacationing in this home is the fact that us older folks have a hard time, making that trek up and down the steep hill from the house to the water we wish the climb wasn’t so steep in a little easier and less exerting to make. Not much you can do about that as the house sits higher up on the hill above the water. Just make sure you’re in shape if you plan to go up and down the hill more than once a day!

The place was clean and had nice extras like plenty of hand soap through out and toilet paper. There were plenty of trash bags and paper towels. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out. The 3 en suites were the best. Everyone enjoyed the diving board, slide and kayaks.

We had a fantastic week! The home is very spacious with a fully stocked kitchen and an abundant supply of towels. The dock is spacious and everyone used the kayaks and slide. The basement game room is great and the a/c worked really well. The house decking needs some attention and the porch and deck cushions should be replaced soon.

Overall we had a great experience. Owner communication was superb and the listing is very accurate. It was what we expected and what we needed. Only issue was the lake temperature for our week in July. It was very warm in our cove. Nothing the owners can control. The slide, diving board, kayaks, etc were plenty of activities for the kids though.

Home is beautiful and great location. Home needs TLC inside and out. Home maintenance needs to be proactive rather than reactive. Owner responded to most issues but items could have been resolved prior to our arrival. Great place to stay. Warm side of the lake so bathwater when skiing. Come in good shape as the incline to/from the dock is steep and definitely gives your legs a workout. The host is very quick to respond to your questions and requests.

Overall, my family any myself enjoyed the stay at The Waters. We are a boating family and this was our first time going to Lake Anna. Our stay was wonderful and the responses from the property manager were incredibly quick and helpful, however, the rental was not as clean as we would have expected. Upon arrival, there were toys and objects from past renters sticking out from under the couch (pacifiers and garbage). The floors also look like they had not been adequately vacuumed- there were batteries on the floor. My family traveled with 2 kids under the age of 2, so anything on the ground, will find a way into one of their mouths. There was also dog hair and lint all over some of the bunks in the basement, which is gross and people did not want to sleep on them. Other than the cleanliness, the house was spacious and had everything else we needed. The dock with a water slide and diving made was a great addition for kids!

We were a family of 13 and had plenty of room. The house was very well stocked with dishes, spices, towels, etc. It is a steeper walk from the house to the dock , that kept us in shape!! A few issues came up and the owners were VERY prompt in answering and getting things fixed. A great week had by all.

House and host are great. Lots of appliances and cooking equipment for guests to use. The lake was warmer than we thought it would be. We knew the house was on the “warm” side of the lake, but didn’t appreciate how warm that meant. I gave the location 4 stars in the summer, but would have given it 5 stars in the winter as the warm water would have felt great. If you are thinking of renting a motor boat for the day during the heat of summer, it’s worth renting one on the cool side of the lake.

The property and lake amenities are amazing and greater than most on the lake. We spent many hours on the wonderful dock and in the warm waters of Lake Anna and days boating, tubing and zub boarding with the grandchildren. The only recommendation I have is to update the appliances and furniture. The furniture seems to be 20 years old and upholstery original which needs cleaned or updated. Some appliances should be updated: gas stove must be lit with a hand-held gas lighter and controls have no lines on them to designate off or on. Refrigerator freezer door came off in our hands upon arrival to the house when putting foods into the freezer. Gas grill needs TLC or replaced/updated. We put up with the inconveniences however to justify the rental and VRBO fees, I feel these items should be addressed. Regardless, our family had a wonderful summer vacation on Lake Anna.

We had an amazing week with our stay at The Waters! We had a big crew there and had everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is the best stocked rental property kitchen you could ever find (not to mention the most beverage storage ever with the 2 wine fridges)! From the great bedrooms & bathrooms to the kitchen / living spaces and to the game room downstairs, this fit every need we had for all of us. The outside is just as wonderful, from the spacious decks to the fire pit area and on down to the beach, pavilion, & dock area. We relaxed all week on the dock chairs and loungers while the kids loved the diving board and slide! I can't say enough about how much we all enjoyed our stay! Thank you for an awesome week in your lovely home!

Had an amazing week at this property. Owners were very responsive before and during our trip. The house is absolutely gorgeous with a lot of stone and tile work. I was very appreciative of the interior decorating - nicely done but not over the top with nick-nacks everywhere. It was nice not having to chase my toddler all week to keep her from breaking everything in sight/reach, like some houses we have stayed at. House was very large with plenty of room/privacy for everyone. Fire pit and grill were used daily! The boat house was great for fishing and docking our jet ski. I'm jealous of the beautiful kitchen (I love to cook). It was a treat to feed my family there and the kitchen had everything we needed (except fridge food, of course, but did have a lot of spices and other cabinet things). The community pool was close by and empty (yay!) so entertaining the kids outside of the lake was a breeze. Plenty of room for our two dogs to play outdoors too. My only 'complaint' is the hill from the house to the boat house. I have a desk job and that hill was quite a (much needed) workout! Was also good for the kids to run up and down to wear off some energy. By the end of the week, I'm proud to say I could hike that thing like a pro. :) We also brought a wheel cart to get the gas tanks back and forth for the jet ski, which was a life saver. Definitely hope to stay at this property again. Great location for the area and on the lake. The quietness of the private side was a much preferred/safer way to enjoy our jet ski, versus the heavy boat traffic on the public side. And yes, the water was warm, but not too warm.

We really enjoyed this property. Owner was quick to respond when we had questions. House was spacious, fully stocked, and dock area had everything we needed. We brought along our 24’ boat and docking boat at dock was no problem. Community Boat ramp was easily accessible . . We also enjoyed having use of peddle boat, paddle board and kayaks. We also were able to use community pool and playground. This property has everything you need and more.

Our family of three households (6 adults and 4 children) found this house offered us abundant space. We had questions before our stay and a few upon our arrival--all of which were answered in record time by either Monica or Yuvraj. We were thrilled with the promptness of their replies. We were also impressed to find plenty of some of the essentials like bathroom and kitchen paper goods, dish cleaning soap and DW pods. If other things are needed a grocery is about a 10 minute drive from the house. The kitchen was well-stocked with spices, pots/pans, and casserole dishes. High quality towels and linens were in abundant supply. Some days were so balmy we were able to take out the kayaks and paddleboat. It was a wonderful place for a 5 night stay for us. We highly recommend it.
