Located on a private ranch, this newly built cottage is secluded, yet central to more than 20 wineries, distilleries & breweries. LBJ State and National Parks are within 5 minutes. The near by Pedernales & Blanco Rivers provide opportunities in any season.

This place is amazing. The view is incredible. I love how it’s tucked away from everything. Your neighbors aren’t right on top of you like the city. Mr James is very nice and very helpful with the recommendations. More to the location, this place is located in the middle of so many vineyards and distilleries. We will definitely be coming back.

This was our second time staying at this beautiful place! The host is always friendly and very accommodating. The house is well maintained and clean, along with the property. Quiet and peaceful. The Absolute Repose - Secluded Cottage was everything it claimed to be. Quiet, beautiful, relaxing, and an overall wonderful place to stay. The views were amazing and the birds singing was a joy. We saw deer, turkeys, horses, and even an orange cat came to visit. We are definitely going to stay here again. James was communicative and even had our names on the board welcoming us. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We were back for a second visit and it didn't disappoint! The cabin is just as advertised and is clean, well organized, and situated on an amazing property with a beautiful view of the countryside. The best thing about it is you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but you are actually surrounded by lots of activities including the 290 wineries and Fredericksburg, Johnson City and Blanco, and Luckenbach. But our favorite activity is simply sitting on the deck and enjoying the peace and serenity. We'll be back!

Perfect for a couples getaway. The host does a wonderful job providing a few toiletries and refrigerator items, as well as towels and linens. The only things I brought, and needed to bring, were my own groceries. Quiet location out in the middle of nowhere, but also close enough to Highway 290 for anything you want to do or get. We loved our stay and would highly recommend others to experience the same.

James was a great host and the property was just as expected. Secluded, quiet, and thoughtful details such as a nicely stocked kitchen and plenty of extras in toiletries. We even left one item and James handled getting it back to us in such a courteous manner! We will be back!

We had a great visit at the cabin. It was beautiful, so clean, comfy bed, and the outside porch area was so nice to sit on. We watched the sunrise, deer roaming around, and just relaxed. I can't wait to go back.

I can’t possibly say enough good things about this place We both needed a break, badly. This was the perfect getaway. We left feeling relaxed and replenished; in fact, we didn’t even want to leave! It a short drive to all of the of the vineyards, breweries, and distilleries. We had no problem getting a driver. We had some wonderful evenings under the stars. We love the decor and comfy furniture. The privacy was exactly what we wanted as well. The people in town were so friendly. The host was definitely one of the best hosts I’ve had. Attentive yet never violated our privacy nor made us feel uncomfortable. I love that it’s not a bunch of rentals crammed together, but actual solitude. We will definitely be back!!

Enjoyed this cute cabin for two located in the Hill Country, perfect for a short get away. Cabin has big windows allowed us to look out and watch the deer as they wandered by. The breakfast supplies James left us were much appreciated. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on the deck, when it wasn’t raining. We came up for the peaches and wine, and some shopping in Fredericksburg. We will definitely be back for all of the above.

My wife and I really enjoyed the cottage in all aspects: hospitality of Jack (host), cleanliness of the cottage, creature comforts, location - everything was just great. For a physically small cottage, there was more than enough room. The rooms were well laid out and the decorating was very homey and stylish. I was surprised at all the thought-out details; they obviously planned this cottage with us, the renters, in mind. From the customized welcome board to the wine glasses decorated and waiting to the (surprise!) toe heater in the bathroom to the extra wide deck - WOW! And the bed was so inviting and comfortable. We slept so well. Jack’s property was so quiet and located away from the surrounding towns. The cottage was situated on a little rise and you could see across the prairie and to the bigger hills to the east. We loved our visit in every way and are already planning our next visit! Jack was so communicative and made the whole experience so easy and welcoming. Thank you!! See you again!

The property was awesome. Very clean, perfect size for the two of us. The added touch of having breakfast supplies, water and sodas in the fridge when we got there was awesome and very appreciated. They also supplied travel versions of toiletries in the bathroom, which we didn't need this trip but love the idea just in case i didn't plan well. Loved the firepit and deck. The down side is it is a ways out in the country and outside of Fredericksburg but it did not damper our trip. The view and quiet makes up for the distance. We will have it on our list for next time !

This little cabin was perfect for just the two of us. Incredible starry nights on the patio lounging by the gas fire pit. We saw deer on the property and were close enough to enjoy the LBJ State park for the solar eclipse. The owner even left us solar eclipse glasses for viewing. How incredible is that! This little gem of a home was the perfect spot for our anniversary weekend getaway. The location is perfect for wine tasting at the different wineries along Hwy. 290 and super close to the town of Fredericksburg. The views from this home are beautiful. The home is very clean and the fridge is stocked with breakfast items and sodas and waters for your stay. We couldn’t of asked for more welcoming hosts, thank you Mr. James!

The views were gorgeous from the big porch and the house was extremely clean. The host went above and beyond with having everything prepared and having plenty of towels, toiletries, etc. If you are looking for a well kept date night getaway, this is a great stay! Just a couple minutes from the bar/dancehall in Albert and about 15-20 minutes from Fredericksburg

We had a wonderful time this cabin. James was very helpful and suggested a couple of places to eat, Camp Verde General Store(about 45 mins away) was an excellent place to eat lunch. The cabin is off the highway and road and was very relaxing. We very much enjoyed the hummingbird feeder as in the morning and evening they flocked to it. I was able to sit right next to it(2-3 ft) very still and they still came. We will be coming back here again. Thank you James.

This is our second trip to Absolute Repose! This cottage is a gem located exactly where we love to be in the Texas Wine Country. Easy access to Fredericksburg, Hye, Johnson City, Blanco, Luckenbach makes our trips so effortless! Everything we need including Hill Country views & amazing sunrises. The only hard decision is whether to eat out nearby or stay home & enjoy the expansive outdoor deck by the fire!

My husband and I enjoyed a weekend away in the country. It was so nice to relax, enjoy a few wineries and restaurants in the area. We also cooked and enjoyed quiet evenings at Absolute Repose.
