New Historic Downtown Loft

This loft in downtown New Albany was perfectly situated for exploring the area. The pictures are 100% accurate, and the exceptional cleanliness, desgin and location of the unit made it a wonderful stay for us. We ate at The Exchange, situated right below the loft, and enjoyed their happy hour a couple of times. The only downside is the noise from the music speakers for The Exchange are right outside the living room window. While it can be distracting, the TV in the living room has great sound and picture, and you can enjoy it even with the music (We also chose to play name that tune instead of watching tv, as many of the songs were familiar to us !!). 2 quiz games on the table were fun...movie and music quizzes. The bar was beautiful, and there were snacks, coffee, creamer, sugar, sweeteners, and bottles of water in the refrigerator. Rain was predicted during our stay, and the owner ensured there were umbrellas in the unit as well. The master bed was comfortable, the bathrooms are well-appointed, and there is a large closet in the master for suitcases and other items. Communication with the owner was prompt. Overall, we definitely would stay here again !

Great cozy place in the heart of new Albany !

Great property, well maintained. On a busy (noisy) street but convenient location to Louisville. Could use blackout shades on living room windows if anyone plans on sleeping on the sofa bed.

I desperately wanted to give this place a 5 star review, but I can’t unfortunately. The property overall is excellent, I walked in and my first thought was “I could live here”. The one thing that is not mentioned in the listing is that the fire alarm system is shared with the restaurant downstairs. The fire alarm went off 5+ times (with no fire) during our 2 night stay, 3-4 of them in the middle of the night during our last night. Slept terribly because of it as we had no way to turn it off. I realize that is probably a safety precaution and/or a legal requirement being that it’s the same building, but it was not advertised and was also not resolved when I brought it up. When I contacted the host about it, they took all day to respond and ended up brushing it aside and doing nothing to mitigate the situation. I’ve been compensated more for a coffee maker not working, let alone losing a night’s sleep on a 2 night stay. Other than this the property is phenomenal, just make sure you are aware of this before booking!
