About this house rental
Beautiful Rustic 4 bedroom, 5 bath home located on Lake Hartwell. Cedarwood is located on a wooded 2 acres lot with a gentle walk to the lake, with big, deep water for any water sport and a double decker dock. Bring your boat and your furry family members for a wonderful vacation. We are about 40 minutes to Helen, GA and 45 minutes to Clemson, SC
There are many waterfalls and hiking areas close. Greenville airport is about an 1:20 minutes from the house. Guests are welcome to tie up your boat to dock exterior side, we’ve provided fender bumpers. Owner’s boat does remain in slip year round.

Cedar Lake was perfect for 3 families! The 18 year old boys loved having the bunk room and downstairs fridge! The parents enjoyed the living areas and dock! I highly recommend this place and we will stay again!

We stsyed the week after July 4th. Loved everything about the property. So much to do. So comfortable. Anything we forgot, they had.Highly recommend.

I can not recommend this rental with good conscious.
Upon arrival you are greeted with several noxious odors. Clearly there have been smokers in this house. It was also quite dirty. We found mouse poop in the downstairs bathroom closet when unpacking and copious layers of dog hair. We actually spent several hours cleaning on our own vacation to make it more tolerable. When using the oven the first night, it billowed noxious smoke. The oven remained unusable the entire week.
The upstairs guests were awakened the first night at 1 am by the smoke alarm as it needed new batteries. The downstairs guests were awake listening to mice chew furniture! Our attempts at capturing them were unsuccessful and on the third morning one mouse was found dead floating in the toilet! At this point the owners were contacted for several issues. A maintenance man came but was unsuccessful in getting the oven apart to clean it and simply poured draino in the upstairs shower as it wasn’t draining. This did nothing but now rendered the guest to be standing in ankle deep draino water. A pest control man came and set bait traps which rendered a 4th sleepless night.
The downstairs hang out room, which is really a cool room for teens, has a horrible musty smell and required us medicating one of our children with an antihistamine.
Despite these issues, we had a great time with family and friends. The yard leading to the dock and the dock itself are fantastic! The lake is stunning
I did found the owners to be responsive until I asked for a night or two compensation due to the lack of sleep secondary to the mice infestation.
I would not recommend this house to anyone with a strong sense of smell, allergies, or an aversion to mice!
