La Maison Royale South C

Our arrival at the hotel initially seemed promising, but unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. The biggest issue was the check-in process. We arrived after a full day of game driving in Amboseli National Park, absolutely exhausted, and were looking forward to nothing more than getting into our room and having some rest. Instead, we had to wait an unreasonably long time for our room key. After asking twice what was causing the delay, we were finally told that their system was not working properly. I explained that we were extremely tired and asked them to give us the keys as soon as possible, even if they needed to complete the check-in formalities afterwards. Only then did they manage to manually encode the key and assign us a room on the second floor. Unfortunately, the room itself had several issues. It was not particularly spacious, but it was very clean, which I appreciated. However, the toilet flushing mechanism was faulty, and a member of the reception staff had to come and demonstrate how to flush it manually. The mechanism was so awkward that I almost hurt my finger trying to operate it. The bathroom toiletries holder was also broken and damaged. There were also some rather basic oversights regarding the amenities. Although we booked a double room, there was only one bathrobe, one pair of slippers and toiletries provided for just one person. I had brought my own cosmetics, so this was not a major problem for me personally, but it is something that should be checked before guests arrive. Another downside was the considerable noise in the hotel's surroundings, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. There also seemed to be an issue with mosquitoes. I did not get the chance to try breakfast, as our return flight was rescheduled to an earlier departure and we had to check out in the middle of the night.

Shortly after my arrival the staff did they best to help me attend an important online meeting using their meeting room within very short notice and bringing me there a delicious snack. Plus my training place and mass was at a walking distance.

No real welcoming and guidance to the reception while arriving at the hotel. I also missed a good working desk in the bedroom and some good coffee at the breakfast buffet.

They had robes, bedroom slippers etc. o wasn’t expecting that at all

The Air conditioning system was not working properly at all. It wasn’t cooling. My friends who were also lodging didn’t have the same issue.

Location was good and central, accessible to airport and city centre

The Serving staff, the chef and breakfast crew were a little racist, leaned towards a color service. The chef made terrible scrambled eggs and there was no communication in regard to breakfast so we did not get a full breakfast experience.
