Dimora Trullivo, Charming House

Set out in the countryside, in a stunning olive grove, we shared the property with several feral shy but then friendly cats, and their kittens! Lovely and cool inside (thank you air con - except the trullo which I know the family are addressing soon). A really comfortable conversion, it felt like a proper project of love. Not flashy, just an amazing family holiday home. Davide and Silvia were really helpful and friendly in all communications and our arrival and departure. Hanging out the clothes to dry on a line suspended between trees, dry in just hours. Little lizards scuttling about the walls and rocks. Cooking peaches, and fish, over the outdoor fire. Eating lunch away from the scorching sun in the outdoor dining room. Beautiful pool and outdoor shower. Magical.

Of course the damn mosquitoes - the lizards were doing all they could but they’re inevitable and v annoying! A couple of slightly terrifying encounters with stern faces locals in tractors who definitely think visitors are on their roads and should therefore be the ones reversing for miles to get out of the way - never do I love my husband more than when he is capably reversing at speed down rough country tracks!

The pool was great, lots of outdoor space for our dogs and it was very quiet.

The trulli bedroom had NO a/c only a fan, also the bed in this room was a small double, very cramped and hot. The outdoor bbq had not been cleaned in some time and was a fire pit rather than a grill. Too many personnel items gathering dust in the home and taking up valuable space making it look cluttered.the outside areas needed some attention , pavements and around the pool area looked unkept and needed weeding/ a gardener.

Amazing place, truly extraordinary experience staying in a Trulli house. The garden is beautiful. The hosts were easy to reach when needed!

Sole barking dogs near the house, otherwise no complaints
